THE OPPORTUNITY
The Onondaga County Pretrial Release Program (OC-PRP) provides an alternative to pretrial detention and bail by ensuring that individuals facing criminal charges attend their court appearances and avoid rearrest whilst remaining in their communities. This is achieved through regular check-ins with dedicated program staff who provide support and facilitate connections to community-based programs, services, and resources. OC-PRP reduces detention-related costs while keeping individuals in their communities, jobs, and with their families during the pendency of their case. The program's success is due to the Center's longstanding ability to integrate research and evidence-based practices to increase safety in partnership with the courts and local communities. In OC-PRP, this includes identifying individuals who would be most likely to benefit from the program using a validated release assessment and clinical expertise to engage, support, and connect participants to community-based service providers who can meaningfully meet participants' service and resource needs.
The Center's Upstate office seeks five Pre-Trail Release Specialists. The Pre-Trial Release Specialists are key to ensuring the program provides high quality service to OC-PRP participants and meets obligations to court stakeholders. Reporting to the Associate Director of Program Operations, the Pre-Trial Release Specialists will supervise participants according to their supervision level; work with participants to identify and address barriers to compliance and court attendance; conduct outreach to participants, court stakeholders, community-based service providers; make referrals to appropriate services in the community that support participant stability and maintain accurate and timely court reporting on participants' compliance with program requirements.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to: 
Court &amp; Arraignments:<ul><li>
Appear in daily arraignments, including nights and weekends, to provide pre-trial release program information and orientation to newly mandated participants;</li><li>
Appear in other court parts where participants have court hearings, including nights and weekends;</li><li>
Track cases and complete court-based data entry for newly released participants;</li><li>
Provide written and verbal case updates to the court and court staff, including compliance reporting, as appropriate;</li><li>
Provide participants with immediate connection to program staff or other service providers, as needed;</li><li>
Ensure all newly released participants are scheduled for program intake or re-release check-in; and</li><li>
Maintain professional communication with defense attorneys, prosecutors, court staff, and other justice system stakeholders.</li></ul>
Participant Intakes &amp; Assessments:<ul><li>
Conduct interviews with defendants and collect relevant information regarding criminal history, community ties, residence, employment, and family support;</li><li>
Complete intake forms and assessments in a timely and accurate manner;</li><li>
Determine eligibility for pretrial release based on established program criteria and make recommendations to the court;</li><li>
Conduct risk assessments and complete required documentation for court presentation; and</li><li>
Gather and verify collateral information through contact with family members, employers, service providers, and other relevant sources.</li></ul>
Case Management &amp; Supervision:<ul><li>
Provide supervision for program participants according to their assigned supervision level by completing check-ins in the specified method and frequency, while treating all participants with dignity and respect;</li><li>
Work with participants to identify and address barriers to compliance with supervision requirements and court attendance;</li><li>
Provide holistic, clinically informed case management by coordinating internal and external resource allocation and service referrals, including but not limited to substance use, mental health, trauma, intimate partner violence, housing, education, and employment;</li><li>
Maintain accurate and timely data entry and case documentation aligned with program model, policies, and court reporting obligations;</li><li>
Conduct outreach to participants and their defense attorneys to maximize compliance with supervision requirements;</li><li>
Monitor and document participants&rsquo; compliance with electronic monitoring requirements, as ordered by the court;</li><li>
Communicate promptly with the monitoring vendor, court personnel, and supervisory staff regarding alerts, violations, or technical issues related to electronic monitoring equipment;</li><li>
Ensure accurate and timely data entry of monitoring status and compliance updates in the case management system;</li><li>
Submit accurate and timely reports to court within designated time frames, including compliance and noncompliance; and</li><li>
Ensure confidentiality of all participant and court-related information.</li></ul>
Program Collaboration &amp; Community Partnerships:<ul><li>
Work collaboratively with community service providers to coordinate participant referrals and monitor engagement;</li><li>
Maintain relationships with justice system partners, including court staff, defense attorneys, prosecutors, and law enforcement;</li><li>
Responsible for consistent and effective cross-team communication and collaboration to proactively identify successes, challenges, and opportunities to strengthen programming, create opportunities for meaningful collaboration, and maximize internal and external resources and expertise;</li><li>
Participate in team meetings, case reviews, individual and group staff supervision meetings, and regular staff trainings to develop program expertise and related skill sets;</li><li>
Participate in multidisciplinary partner meetings to ensure consistent communication and coordination regarding a defendant&rsquo;s case;</li><li>
Represent the Pretrial Services Program at community events and professional meetings as needed; and</li><li>
Additional tasks as necessary.</li></ul>
Qualifications:<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree and a minimum of one year in a related area, preferably as a criminal justice practitioner or 3-4 years' experience in the criminal justice field as an equivalency;</li><li>
Experience in pretrial, court-based, or criminal legal system strongly preferred;</li><li>
Experience working with people related to substance use treatment, mental health services, cooccurring disorders, or adolescent development preferred;</li><li>
Experience using trauma-informed and strength-based approaches strongly preferred;</li><li>
Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills;</li><li>
Must be able to work effectively independently and as part of a highly interdependent, multi disciplinary team within a fast-paced and dynamic work environment;</li><li>

Compensation: The compensation range for this position is $52,000 - $53,000 and is commensurate with experience.

THE OPPORTUNITY
Bronx Community Solutions, a program of the Center for Justice Innovation, aims to provide community-based alternatives to jail, restore community relationships, and center the needs and dignity of participants while helping them avoid further criminal legal involvement. With programming in the Bronx&rsquo;s centralized criminal courthouse and the south Bronx community, Bronx Community Solutions offers meaningful alternatives to the traditional criminal legal system, providing a variety of services including pre-arraignment diversion and alternative to incarceration programming.
Bronx Community Solutions is seeking a Program Manager for Bronx HOPE (Heroin Overdose Prevention and Education). Reporting to the Deputy Project Director, the Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the Bronx HOPE program. The HOPE model is an innovative pre-arraignment diversionary program that engages individuals at the precinct level and redirects people with substance use disorders to community-based health services, harm reduction education, and treatment services, instead of prosecution.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Administrative and Technical Support:<ul><li>
Support with task supervision - support of peers, regularly meeting with team supervisors for peer support, ensuring program structure aligns with harm reduction model;</li><li>
Further develop and sustain relationships with key stakeholders within NYPD and District Attorney office;</li><li>
Facilitate strategic planning meetings;</li><li>
Develop and maintain relationships with funders, government officials, and stakeholders;</li><li>
Manage existing relationships with the Bronx County District Attorney&rsquo;s Office, the Mayor&rsquo;s Office of Criminal Justice, and community stakeholders and develop new relationships;</li><li>
Identify community hot spots and work with staff to develop programming that empowers community members;</li><li>
Oversee community organizing techniques used to mobilize the community to participate in activities, including the implementation of the Bronx HOPE mobile outreach van, to serve as mobile office that can bring program services throughout the Bronx;</li><li>
Plan and oversee the execution of all Bronx HOPE engagement activities;</li><li>
Supervise staff and develop training and support systems for all staff;</li><li>
Model and facilitate creative problem solving, facilitation, community and harm reduction practices;</li><li>
Prepare grant progress reports and other program reports, as needed;</li><li>
Provide administrative and clinical oversight of the HOPE Program and lead the strategic planning and implementation of programming, including community trainings of overdose prevention, community and stakeholder engagement, and development of relationships with community partners;</li><li>

Work closely with CJI&rsquo;s data and research teams to maintain accurate data collection;</li><li>
Engage in lobbying - build and maintain relationships with elected officials;</li><li>
Apply for new grants or grant renewals as needed, and take the lead role in writing reports due to grant funders, such as Mayor&rsquo;s Office on Criminal Justice and Department of Health;</li><li>
Adhere to policies which elevate the standards of confidentiality and safety of the clients;</li><li>
Present before NYPD, District Attorney, and legislative delegates to educate them on the program impact within the targeted Bronx communities;</li><li>
Attend ongoing management training as well as additional trainings keeping up to date in current harm reduction modalities;</li><li>
Maintain accurate and timely data entry and case documentation aligned with the project, stakeholder reporting obligations, and best practices; and</li><li>
Additional relevant tasks, as necessary.</li></ul>
Community Support:<ul><li>
Connect with organizations to build awareness of harm reduction and help to streamline services for referrals;</li><li>
Help coordinate community events for Bronx HOPE;</li><li>
Collaborate within Bronx Community Solutions ATI staff to provide in-house services for ATI clients;</li><li>
Lead outreach in the Bronx communities to promote educational opportunities for safe usage; and</li><li>
Additional tasks as necessary.</li></ul>
Qualifications:<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree and at least 3-5 years direct practice experience (e.g. therapeutic or case management) required;</li><li>
At least two years of management/leadership/supervisory work experience strongly preferred;</li><li>
Experience in court-based, or criminal legal system direct practice strongly preferred;</li><li>

THE OPPORTUNITY
Staten Island Justice Center (SIJC) seeks to re-engineer the experience of criminal court in Staten Island, New York, by providing judges and attorneys meaningful alternatives to bail, fines, and jail sentences. Operating out of Richmond County Criminal Court along with community-based offices, SIJC is a team of social service providers, court-based resource coordinators, mental health practitioners, compliance specialists, and others who seek to improve the quality of justice. Supervised Release offers an alternative to jail by providing pretrial supervision, case management, and voluntary social services to people charged with misdemeanor and felony offenses, and in doing so, uses an arrest as a window of opportunity to change the direction of a participant&rsquo;s life, avoiding the harmful effects of incarceration. Program participants are monitored to ensure their appearance at court dates and mandatory programming, and receive referrals to services like job training, drug treatment, and mental health counseling.
SIJC seeks a Participant Engagement Specialist for the borough&rsquo;s Supervised Release Program (SRP) which provides supervision, case management, and social service connection to thousands of court-mandated participants each year. Reporting to the Clinical Intake Coordinator, the Participant Engagement Specialist will leverage interpersonal and data-management skills to support participants&rsquo; successful engagement with the program. The Participant Engagement Specialist will provide outreach to program participants who missed program orientation, intake, and those who have been disengaged for 30 days or more. Additionally, this role will effectively communicate and collaborate with intake, case management, and compliance teams to ensure accurate court reporting and continued program engagement.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:<ul><li>

SIJC is seeking a Clinician, Supervised Release Program (SRP). Reporting to the Clinical Director, the Clinician, SRP will be licensed a social worker and mental health practitioner responsible for providing therapeutically-informed support to participants. This position will leverage exemplary clinical and interpersonal skills to provide clinical support to participants enrolled in the program. Specifically, the Clinician, SRP will facilitate CBT-informed sessions for all Tier 2 participants, provide short-term counseling for any participant identified as a strong candidate for mental health support, and external referrals to therapy, as appropriate. This position provides hours towards LCSW accreditation.
The Clinician, SRP will not carry a standard SRP caseload. Rather, they will work closely with the case management and specialty in-house referral teams to case conference about participants' strengths and needs and coordinate tailored support as appropriate. The Clinician, SRP will work with other SRP teams to ensure access to, completion of, and accurate data entry for CBT and other therapeutically-informed sessions to ensure these sessions count toward participants&rsquo; compliance status.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:<ul><li>

Co-facilitate pro-social and psycho-educational groups for participants in collaboration with SRP Clinicians;</li><li>
Maintain professional and positive relationships with court staff, judges, and attorneys;</li><li>
Participate in individual, group supervision, and regular staff trainings to develop program expertise and related skill sets;</li><li>
Attend project events, community events, and meetings after house, as needed;</li><li>
This is a non-caseload carrying position;</li><li>
Additional relevant tasks, as necessary.</li></ul>
Qualifications:<ul><li>
A Master's degree in a mental health field and 2 years direct practice (e.g. therapeutic or case management) experience required; license is strongly preferred;</li><li>
Experience in pretrial, court-based, or criminal legal system strongly preferred;</li><li>
Experience in SRP preferred but not required;</li><li>
Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills;</li><li>
Must be able to work effectively independently and as part of a highly interdependent, multi-disciplinary team within a fast-paced and dynamic work environment;</li><li>
Professional demeanor and ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a variety of program stakeholders, including judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, court staff, and site partner agencies;</li><li>
Bilingual (English-Spanish) strongly preferred.</li></ul>
Position Type: Full-time in-person work required; weekend and evening hours required, as needed.

Compensation: The compensation range for this position is $58,500 - $73,500 and is commensurate with experience.
