THE OPPORTUNITY
Brooklyn Justice Initiatives (BJI), the largest operating project of the Center, seeks to re-engineer the experience of criminal court in Brooklyn, New York, by providing judges and attorneys meaningful alternatives to bail, fines, and jail sentences. Operating out of community-based offices, BJI is a team of social service providers, court-based court liaisons, mental health practitioners, compliance specialists, and others who seek to improve the quality of justice. Supervised Release offers an alternative to jail by providing pretrial supervision, case management, and voluntary social services to people charged with misdemeanor and felony offenses, and in doing so, uses an arrest as a window of opportunity to change the direction of a participant&rsquo;s life, avoiding the harmful effects of incarceration. Program participants are monitored to ensure their appearance at court dates and mandatory programming, and receive referrals to services like job training, drug treatment, and mental health counseling.
BJI is seeking a Clinical Manager for the borough&rsquo;s Supervised Release Program (SRP). Reporting to the Director of Practice, Programming and Partnerships, the Clinical Manager will oversee SRP Clinicians who provide intake, assessment, evidence-based group and individual programming to address participant needs and court mandates, and crisis support to participants in need. This position leverages clinical, supervisory, and program management experience to support the SRP Clinicians in the execution of their responsibilities. Specifically, the Clinical Manager will provide SRP Clinicians with supervision and case conferencing in both one-on-one and group formats to ensure program offerings and clinical interventions are carried out thoroughly, ethically, and in alignment with the program model and organizational values. Lastly, the Clinical Manager also plays a key role in overseeing quality assurance systems and internal audits for the clinician team to ensure the teams&rsquo; compliance with program requirements, court reporting obligations, and adherence to the program model.
The Clinical Manager will ensure effective cross-team communication and collaboration to prioritize comprehensive and aligned service delivery; proactively identify successes, challenges, and opportunities to strengthen programming; create opportunities for meaningful collaboration, and maximize internal and external resources and expertise through a trauma-informed lens.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:<ul><li>
Provide weekly supervision and bi-weekly group supervision to SRP Clinicians;</li><li>
Provide clinical support in community offices as needed, including but not limited to speaking with court stakeholders, and coordinating emergency services in response to participant escalations;</li><li>
Provide coverage for the Clinicians they supervise, as needed;</li><li>
Review mandatory programming recommendations to determine appropriateness, prior to submission to the court;</li><li>
Support policy and protocol implementation in collaboration with the Director of Programming &amp; Partnerships, other members of site leadership, and the SRP Court Reform team;</li><li>
Work closely with the SRP Court Reform Training Specialist, Training Institute, and site Training Liaison to ensure SRP staff are consistently trained as required;</li><li>
Co-facilitate required clinical trainings, including intake and assessment trainings and de-escalation and crisis intervention training in collaboration with the centralized SRP Court Reform Team;</li><li>
In collaboration with the Center&rsquo;s Court Reform team and the SRP clinicians, implement group and individual programming to address participant needs and court mandates;</li><li>

Qualifications:<ul><li>
LMSW or MHC required; LCSW preferred;</li><li>
4 years direct practice (e.g. therapeutic or case management) and 2 years of supervisory experience required;</li><li>
Group work development and facilitation experience strongly preferred;</li><li>
Experience in pretrial or criminal legal system strongly preferred;</li><li>

THE OPPORTUNITY
Staten Island Justice Center (SIJC) seeks to re-engineer the experience of criminal court in Staten Island, New York, by providing judges and attorneys meaningful alternatives to bail, fines, and jail sentences. Operating out of Richmond County Criminal Court along with community-based offices, SIJC is a team of social service providers, court-based resource coordinators, mental health practitioners, compliance specialists, and others who seek to improve the quality of justice. Supervised Release offers an alternative to jail by providing pretrial supervision, case management, and voluntary social services to people charged with misdemeanor and felony offenses, and in doing so, uses an arrest as a window of opportunity to change the direction of a participant&rsquo;s life, avoiding the harmful effects of incarceration. SIJC is seeking a Clinician, Supervised Release Program (SRP). Reporting to the Clinical Director, the Clinician, SRP will be licensed a social worker and mental health practitioner responsible for providing therapeutically-informed support to participants. This position will leverage exemplary clinical and interpersonal skills to provide clinical support to participants enrolled in the program. Specifically, the Clinician, SRP will facilitate CBT-informed sessions for all Tier 2 participants, provide short-term counseling for any participant identified as a strong candidate for mental health support, and external referrals to therapy, as appropriate. This position provides hours towards LCSW accreditation.
The Clinician, SRP will not carry a standard SRP caseload. Rather, they will work closely with the case management and specialty in-house referral teams to case conference about participants' strengths and needs and coordinate tailored support as appropriate. The Clinician, SRP will work with other SRP teams to ensure access to, completion of, and accurate data entry for CBT and other therapeutically-informed sessions to ensure these sessions count toward participants&rsquo; compliance status.

THE OPPORTUNITY
The Staten Island Justice Center (SIJC)offers an array of programming for both youth and adults in Staten Island, focusing on engaging those with current or past justice involvement or at-risk of justice-involvement. SIJC operates diversion, alternative to detention and incarceration, supervised release, reentry, mental health and wellness, workforce development, peer-led restorative justice and leadership development programs. The Justice Center&rsquo;s youth justice initiatives provide judges, prosecutors, and defense attorneys with alternative community sentencing options that hold individuals accountable in a way that is meaningful, proportionate, and restorative. The goal is to provide participants with individual and group services that help them to avoid future contact with the justice system and promote swift case resolutions that bolster public confidence in justice.
SIJC is seeking a Youth Engagement Specialist who will support as a Mentor in working with youth justice initiatives participants ages 13 to 18. Reporting to the Youth Justice Initiatives Program Manager, the Youth Engagement Specialist will develop and oversee mentorship programming activities&mdash;including group workshops and individual mentorship sessions. These activities will take place virtually, on-site, and in the community. The Youth Engagement Specialist will work individually and with a team to assist participants in addressing the individual and societal factors that may impact their behavior.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:<ul><li>
Engage in one-on-one relationships with mentees and their families, including, but not limited to, scheduling and facilitating individual mentorship meetings in participant's homes and in the community several times per week and scheduling and participating in family events and outings;</li><li>
Facilitate group programming including, but not limited to, community engagement projects, group outings, weekly trauma informed group sessions, restorative justice circles, and workshops on topics related to positive youth development and skill-building, and leadership development;</li><li>
Carry out accurate and adequate case planning for mentees, including scheduling and participating in meetings related to mentees' well-being, as well as family team meetings, school meetings, meetings with external service providers, court appearances, and probation meetings, among others;</li><li>

A valid driver's license is required. Strong knowledge of community resources in the North Shore of Staten Island is a plus. For this role, candidate must be able to seek direction and advice when necessary and make independent decisions when possible. Good judgment, a trauma-informed approach, excellent communication, and organizational and multitasking abilities are a must for this role. The candidate should have a strong ability to balance participation in a collaborative work environment with independent work. Computer literacy and knowledge of the juvenile justice system preferred. Candidates must have the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and be able to provide crisis management as needed. BJI seeks Case Managers for the borough&rsquo;s Supervised Release Program (SRP). Reporting to Supervising Case Managers, Case Managers are the front line of service delivery and key to ensuring that the program meets its mandate. Specifically, Case Managers will supervise SRP participants according to their assigned tier and level; work with participants to identify and address barriers to compliance and court attendance; conduct outreach to participants, court stakeholders, community-based service providers, and collateral contacts; connect participants to appropriate services in the community to support their stabilization, and ensure accurate and timely court reporting on participants&rsquo; compliance with program requirements. Accurate and timely data entry is a core responsibility for this position. Additionally, Case Managers will co-facilitate pro-social and psycho-educational groups.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:<ul><li>
Provide supervision and court monitoring for SRP participants according to their assigned tier and level by completing check-ins in the specified method and frequency, while treating all participants with dignity and respect;<ul><li>

THE OPPORTUNITY
The Staten Island Justice Center (SIJC; Justice Center) offers an array of programming for both youth and adults in Staten Island, focusing on engaging those with current or past justice involvement. The Justice Center&rsquo;s Alternatives to Incarceration programming provides judges, prosecutors, and defense attorneys with alternative community sentencing options that hold individuals accountable in a way that is meaningful, proportionate, and restorative. The goal is to provide participants with individual and group services that help them to avoid future contact with the justice system and promote swift case resolutions that bolster public confidence in justice.
Reporting to the Clinical Coordinator, the Case Manager will be responsible for the monitoring and case management of program participants, referring participants to voluntary social service interventions, and helping promote compliance with pre-plea and post-plea conditions. The Case Manager will stay in regular contact with participants, including facilitating in-person case management meetings. The Case Manager will also facilitate groups and assist in development of onsite services for participants. Additionally, the Case Manager will be in communication with attorneys&rsquo; offices, community-based providers, and draft memos to keep the court informed of participants&rsquo; compliance. The Case Manager will work closely with an interdisciplinary team providing adult case management services.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:<ul><li>
Provide comprehensive case management services to a caseload of short- and long-term mandated clients;</li><li>
Manage a caseload of over 40 ATI participants, ensuring consistent engagement and progress tracking;</li><li>
Coordinate and facilitate scheduling of community service appointments, providing ongoing support and guidance to participants mandated for community service requirements;</li><li>
Provide voluntary service referrals to individuals, to help address issues such as substance use, mental health, trauma, domestic violence, housing, and vocational needs;</li><li>
Coordinate with service providers to facilitate, follow-up, and assist participants with voluntary service referrals;</li><li>
Maintain appropriate client and group information in electronic databases and hard files;</li><li>
Connect with and maintain relationships with outside service providers to increase referral sources for clients;</li><li>
Monitor and report on compliance to court stakeholders and work with defense and district attorneys to bring program participants into compliance;</li><li>
Participate in individual and group supervision, department staff meetings, interdisciplinary meetings, and on and off-site trainings;</li><li>
Assist with administrative responsibilities, including data management, grant reporting and compliance monitoring;</li><li>
Assist with other Justice Center intakes and assessments, as needed;</li><li>
Attend Staten Island Justice Center's events after hours, as needed;</li><li>
Attend all required staff meetings and trainings;</li><li>
Assist the Director with the development and implementation of new policies, programs, initiatives, and/or interventions; and</li><li>
Perform other duties as necessary to support the Staten Island Justice Center and department activities.</li></ul>
Qualifications: Bachelor&rsquo;s degree or a minimum of 3-4 years of experience working in a social service setting. Experience working in a court or criminal justice setting strongly preferred. Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred is preferred. Seeking a highly organized candidate with an ability to multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to provide service in a strengths-based manner and understand the importance of meeting clients where they are. Willingness and interest in engaging individuals (youth and adult) with mental health and substance abuse needs. Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds in a culturally-responsive manner required. Candidate must have professional demeanor and ability to communicate appropriately with building stakeholders. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, and writing skills required.
