Certified Medical Assistant - Float (Part-time)

Key Responsibilities: 


Essential Functions

This position will require travel to offices in the surrounding Augusta, GA area. 


Reporting to the Office Manager, the Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for serving, greeting, scheduling, maintaining records and accounts for patients.
<ul><li>
Assist providers adequately and accurately with exams and procedures.</li><li>
Demonstrates the ability to carry out and complete providers orders.</li><li>
Conscientious of work area to include keeping exam rooms and equipment cleaned, stocked, and in working condition.</li><li>
Accurately administers medication and injections per provider orders</li><li>
Accurately documents necessary information in Electronic Medical Record System</li><li>
Operate office equipment according to manufacturer guidelines to include but not limited to EKG, autoclave, nebulizer, blood pressure cuff.</li><li>
Prepares patient and exam room appropriately for exams, procedures, etc. making sure appropriate supplies are stocked</li><li>
Ensure smooth patient flow throughout the office by assisting in other areas when needed or as requested.</li><li>
Documents and reports lab results on appropriate forms and in a timely manner.</li><li>
Drawing blood, labeling specimens and completing orders in adherence with the guidelines of our accrediting body.</li><li>
Adheres to infection control guidelines.</li><li>
Maintains patient confidentiality at all times; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines.</li><li>
Communicates effectively with patients in person and by telephone at his/her level of understanding.</li><li>
Prepare forms and patient paperwork for provider review and signature.</li><li>
Promotes positive public relations to patients, visitors, families, providers, and others.</li><li>
Physical appearance and conduct is consistent with acceptable professional ethics and CPC standards.</li><li>
Answers telephone by identifying person answering and assisting callers in a pleasant manner.</li><li>
Screening, prioritizing, and returning patient calls according to office procedure.</li><li>
Maintains operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes and making suggestions for improvement.</li><li>
Reads and familiarizes oneself with all laboratory policies and procedures.</li><li>
Stays current on all changes to laboratory policies and procedures.</li><li>
Participates in continuing education and required competency testing for laboratory duties.</li><li>
Accurately performs laboratory tests ordered by providers by following step-by-step instructions.</li><li>
Timely and effectively communicates critical laboratory results to the ordering provider and documents actions appropriately.</li><li>
Effectively navigates the Laboratory Information System to perform assigned duties.</li><li>
Understands and observes policies set by OSHA, CLIA, COLA, and HIPAA.</li><li>
Understands criteria for specimen acceptance, accurate records, and prepares reports completely.</li><li>
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.</li></ul>

Qualifications for Success:

Education and Experience Requirements 


Education: High School graduate or GED required. 


Licensure/Certification: Registered MA, Certified MA, or current LPN required. Basic Life Support or be able to obtain within 6 months. 


Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of Medical Office experience.

Ability to function in a fast-paced work environment, multi-tasking</li></ul> 


Additional Job Details: 

This position will require travel to offices in the surrounding Augusta, GA area. 

Work Setting: Well-lit medical office environment 


Job Type: Part-time 


Schedule: 2-3 days per week (8:00am to 5:00pm) and ability to work flexible and extended hours, as needed. 


Compensation: Market competitive base pay, commensurate with education and experience.
