<div>The Center for the Functional Restoration of the Spine (CFRS) is proud to be a trusted destination for comprehensive spine care in Shrewsbury, Edison, and Toms River, NJ. Our physicians specialize in diagnosing and treating a wide range of spine conditions, helping patients relieve pain, restore function, and improve their quality of life. We are currently seeking a Medical Scribe to support Dr. Marc S. Menkowitz, a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon. Dr. Menkowitz is known for his patient-first philosophy and individualized approach to care, taking the time to fully understand each patient&rsquo;s condition and develop thoughtful, personalized treatment plans. This is a unique opportunity to work side-by-side with a highly experienced spine specialist and gain real, hands-on exposure to patient care, clinical decision-making, and advanced orthopedic procedures in a fast-paced specialty practice.
In this role, you&rsquo;ll be present during patient visits, documenting clinical encounters in real time and helping ensure accurate, complete medical records. You&rsquo;ll gain valuable insight into how physicians evaluate spine conditions, interpret imaging, and develop treatment plans &mdash; making this an ideal role for someone pursuing a future in healthcare. We&rsquo;re looking for someone who is curious, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a high-performing clinical environment.
What You&rsquo;ll Do
Clinical support &amp; real-time documentation<ul><li>
Accompany Dr. Menkowitz during patient visits and document encounters in real time in the EMR</li><li>
Capture patient history, exam findings, and treatment plans accurately</li><li>
Document physician interpretation of imaging including X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans</li></ul>
Support clinical workflow<ul><li>
Prepare charts ahead of clinic by reviewing prior notes, imaging, and medical history</li><li>
Enter orders, referrals, and follow-up instructions as directed</li><li>
Help ensure documentation is complete and ready for physician review</li></ul>
Stay organized and detail-focused<ul><li>
Track follow-ups such as imaging results and referrals</li><li>
Maintain accurate, timely documentation to support patient care and billing</li><li>
Uphold strict patient confidentiality and professionalism</li></ul>
What We&rsquo;re Looking For<ul><li>
Strong attention to detail and ability to listen and document quickly</li><li>
Ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment</li><li>
Professional, reliable, and able to maintain confidentiality</li><li>
High School Diploma required; Bachelor&rsquo;s degree (or in progress) preferred</li><li>
Strong interest in healthcare, medicine, or clinical experience (great for pre-med, PA, nursing paths)</li><li>
Prior scribe or medical office experience is a plus, but not required</li></ul>
