<div><p>We are expanding our team to serve the needs of our community in the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri area! Central Ozarks Medical Center (COMC) is excited to announce an opening for an Access Coordinator (AC) position at our Crocker clinic!</p><p><br>
COMC is a Missouri non-profit, federally qualified health center that has served Pulaski, Laclede, Camden and Miller counties for over 40 years. Responsibilities: The Access Coordinator is responsible for basic clerical tasks such greeting patients and visitors, and scheduling appointments in a professional and timely manner. Exhibits and promotes COMC mission, vision, and values in every interaction.<br>
<br>
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.<br>
<ul><li>Serves as the initial point of contact for the health Center and consistently provides positive interactions in every encounter. Warmly welcomes and greets all patients and visitors to the clinic</li><li>Registers new patients and updates existing patient demographics by collecting detailed patient information including personal and financial information using electronic medical record system.</li><li>Schedules medical, dental, and behavioral health provider appointments in accordance with department and provider templates in effort to optimize provider time and patient satisfaction.</li><li>Facilitates patient flow by notifying the provider of patients' arrival using electronic medical record system.</li><li>Ensures accuracy of patient information in the health record system.</li><li>Assists patients with registration paperwork as needed.</li><li>Makes appointments and keeps accurate appointment schedules.</li><li>Efficiently works in electronic medical record system, files, and retrieves medical charts.</li><li>Verifies patient insurance by running preauthorization&rsquo;s.</li><li>Collects and records payments for services.</li><li>Performs daily reconciliation tasks, balances and prepares deposit slip.</li><li>Makes bank deposit at the end of each business day.</li><li>Properly navigates incoming and outgoing faxes by assigning to appropriate staff.</li><li>Scans and attaches patient documents to proper electronic chart location or assign to appropriate staff member.</li><li>Responsible for keeping the front reception area clean and organized.</li><li>Keeps the clinic waiting area cleaned/disinfected as required to ensure patient safety.</li><li>Responds to patients', prospective patients, and visitor inquiries in a courteous manner.</li><li>Participates in Health Center meeting and events as required</li><li>Follows HIPAA guidelines and protects patient confidentiality.</li><li>Floats to other clinic locations to ensure operational coverage as needed</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul><br>
Qualifications Requirements:<br>
The Access Coordinator must have the ability to plan and organize assignments and be self-motivating. Ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure. Must possess patience in dealing with all people. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, vendors and all members of the public. Must be proficient with computers. Outgoing personality and outstanding customer service skills. Must be willing to comply with the requirements of the CMS-Mandate.</div><p></p><p><br>
Education and/or experience:<br>
GED or High School diploma. Previous experience in a medical office desirable. **Due to the CMS-Mandate our staff are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment.</p><p><br>
Language Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and respond to common inquiries or complaints from all customers. Outgoing personality with strong phone etiquette skills, outstanding customer service skills. Fluency in the English language is required. Bilingual applicants encouraged to apply.</p><p></p><p><br>
Data Entry Skills: Ability to learn, navigate, and enter data into a computer software system. Proficient with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).</p><p></p><p><br>
Mathematical Skills: Balancing daily log and bank deposit slip; calculating payments, co-pays, and slide fee schedules.</p><p><br>
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.</p><p></p><div><br>
