The Small Engine Mechanic inspects, services and repairs motorized power equipment.<ul><li>
Performs routine engine maintenance, such as lubricating parts and replacing spark plugs.</li><li>
Tests and inspects engines for malfunctioning parts.</li><li>
Repairs or replaces worn, defective, or broken parts.</li><li>
Reassembles and reinstalls components and engines following repairs.</li><li>
Keeps records of inspections, test results, work performed, and parts used.</li><li>
Discusses equipment issues, maintenance plans and work performed with manager.</li><li>
Uses a variety of hand tools, including screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers and many common tasks.</li><li>
Disassembles major parts for repairs and reassembles them properly.</li></ul>
Requirements: 
KNOWLEDEG/SKILLS REQUIRED:<ul><li>
Strong reading, writing and math skills required</li><li>
Customer service skills required</li><li>
Detail oriented</li><li>
Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination required</li><li>
Troubleshooting skills required</li><li>
Must be familiar with engine components and systems and know how they interact with each other</li><li>
Must be familiar with electronic control systems and the appropriate tools needed to maintain and fix them</li></ul> 
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:<ul><li>
 experience in small engine repair desired</li></ul>
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:<ul><li>
Sitting: Up to 3 hours per day</li><li>
Walking: 6-8 hours per day</li><li>
Standing: 6-8 hours per day</li><li>
Bending/Twisting: 6-8 hours per day</li><li>
Squatting/Stooping: 3-6 hours per day</li><li>
Climbing: 3-6 hours per day</li><li>
Kneeling/Crawling: 3-6 hours per day</li><li>
Pushing/Pulling: 3-6 hours per day</li><li>
Hand Dexterity: 6-8 hours per day</li><li>
Lifting 0-25lbs: Up to 3 hours per day</li><li>
Lifting 26-60lbs per day: Up to 3 hours per day</li><li>
Carrying 0-25lbs per day: Up to 3 hours per day</li><li>
Carrying 26-60lbs: Up to 3 hours per day</li></ul>
