<div>JOB SUMMARY
The Corrections Psychologist at Camden County DOC will be responsible for the delivery of psychotherapy, diagnostic, and therapeutic services in a contract facility. The Psychologist will also act as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team and a liaison with other medical disciplines. The Psychologist will ensure that psychotherapy treatment services are delivered to inmate patients in timely and effective, achieving desired patient outcomes while maintaining the established guidelines.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES<ul><li>
Performs and documents routine psychiatric intakes, assessments and evaluations on inmate patients referred by the nursing/professional staff of the assigned correctional facility consistent with the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) standards of care, American Psychological Association (APA), NJ 10-A, American Correctional Association (ACA) and Performance Based National Detention Standards (PBNDS) as appropriate.</li><li>
Ability to diagnosis and treatment of mental illness, psychological assessment/testing, psychological evaluations, and crisis intervention.</li><li>
Supports and provides direction for the psychiatric and behavioral health care delivery system and coordinates with the other functions within the institution.</li><li>
Meets regularly with the site mental health and medical staff for mental health issues as requested.</li><li>

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education<ul><li>
Completion from an accredited medical school facility with a degree in Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or Doctor Psychology (Psy.D.).</li><li>
Current, unrestricted license to practice psychology in the state is located (maintain a current copy of license on file at the facility at all times).</li></ul>

 Corrections Nurses provide care to inmate patients to promote &amp; improve their overall health utilizing the nursing process in triage, professional training and various resources in accordance with regulatory agencies and established guidelines. The inmate patient population generally has not had consistent access to healthcare prior to their incarceration. This provides an opportunity for nurses to see and care for an interesting variety of health concerns from minor ailments to major and atypical conditions.
