About:
The Junior Personal Injury Associate will be responsible for assisting with legal documentation, research, and analysis. They will partner with senior attorneys to prepare cases for trial.
Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Prepare, draft and file legal documents, including complaints, pleadings, motions, briefs, and appeals.</li><li>
Present and argue motions in court.</li><li>
Attend hearings with the court.</li><li>
Conduct legal research and analysis on case precedents and statutory laws pertinent to the personal injury claims of clients.</li><li>
Participate in the discovery process by drafting requests and responses, reviewing documents, and preparing materials for trial.</li><li>
Assist in the negotiation and settlement of claims, working to achieve the best possible outcome for the client.</li><li>
Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates on case progress, advice, and legal counsel.</li><li>
Work collaboratively with Trial Teams to prepare cases for trial, including strategy discussions and witness preparation.</li><li>
Attend legal seminars and workshops to continue professional development and stay updated on changes in personal injury law.</li><li>
Manage Service of Process</li><li>
Draft and present minor and death settlement petitions.</li></ul>
Qualifications:<ul><li>
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.</li><li>
Admission to the bar in the state where the firm is located.</li><li>
0-2 years of experience in personal injury law or a related field. New graduates with relevant internship or clinical experience are encouraged to apply.</li><li>
Must be a team player: willing to work collaboratively with colleagues</li><li>
Caring and compassionate attitude with clients that&rsquo;s consistent with firm&rsquo;s core value of Doing Good by Doing Right</li><li>
Excellent analytical skills and excellent written and oral communication skills</li><li>
Growth mindset&mdash;eager to become an invaluable member of the Chaffin Luhana team, we want to train if you want to learn</li><li>
Highly proficient in Microsoft suite and demonstrated comfort with technology</li><li>
Strong time management and multitasking skills &ndash; must be able to simultaneously manage multiple projects in a busy environment</li><li>
High attention to detail and superior organizational skills</li><li>
Pennsylvania Bar Admission is required, Ohio or West Virginia admission is a plus.</li></ul>
