Qualifications:<ul><li>
Arizona Teaching Certificate</li><li>
AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card</li><li>
SEI endorsement coursework completed</li><li>
Appropriate approved areas/ endorsements maybe required depending on area of instruction</li><li>
Knowledge of computer applications</li></ul>
Core Job Functions:<ul><li>
Plan and implement a program of study that meets the individual needs of students based on their skills, abilities, and unique circumstances</li><li>
Provide research-based specialized instruction to address instructional goals and objectives contained within each student&rsquo;s IEP</li><li>
Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students</li><li>
Develop and implement reasonable classroom rules that address behavior and procedure in a fair and consistent manner</li><li>
Create a weekly lesson plan describing daily learning experiences correlated with the aims and/or objectives in the curriculum guide and/or course outline</li><li>
Work with students individually or in small groups to reinforce concepts and skills</li><li>
Monitor and assess student progress in order to provide on-going feedback, report quarterly progress, and report annual progress on IEP goals</li><li>
Maintain both paper and electronic student records</li><li>
Complete duties as Service Coordinator for students assigned to individual workload (to include IEP paperwork, special education assessment, quarterly progress reports, data collection, parent communication, collaboration with team members, attendance)</li><li>
Identify and address specific student needs, and seek assistance from site department chair</li><li>
Communicate using organized, clear, and precise language</li><li>
Assist administration in implementing all policies and rules governing the development of proper student behavior</li><li>
Use effective behavior management strategies when working with children identified with disabilities to provide interventions and develop behavior intervention plans</li><li>
Develop and adhere to a class schedule addressing instructional periods, breaks, and inclusive practices</li><li>
Create educational experiences that provide each student the opportunity to develop his/her potential</li><li>
Promote and follow approved school district philosophy, policies, regulations, and procedures</li><li>
Communicate concerns and ideas with colleagues, students, parents, and community in a positive, professional and ethical manner</li><li>
Collaborate with classroom teachers regarding curriculum or environmental adaptations, instructional modifications, adaptive equipment, behavior modification and other similar instructional interventions to meet the needs of students identified with disabilities</li><li>
Assume legal responsibility for the supervision of students on school property or in attendance at school-sponsored activities</li><li>
Strive to maintain and improve professional competence</li><li>
Assume individual responsibilities which may be assigned by the principal/supervisor and which may relate to committee work, student activities, student supervision or other planning and professional assignments</li><li>
Maintain accurate, complete, legible and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation</li><li>
Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities</li><li>
Attend parent conferences</li><li>
Basic Knowledge of computers, software and applications</li><li>
Participate in department and school meetings</li><li>

Physical Requirements
Positions in this classification typically require stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, pushing, reaching, lifting, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. Employees may be subject to travel, body fluids, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, workspace restrictions, and intense noise. Employees may be required to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Position can require some degree of physical interaction with students who have difficulty controlling behavior.</div>
