BIG PICTURE: 
At Changing Lives Productions, we tell stories that impact millions of people worldwide, and we are now launching a new podcast focused on the untold stories of extraordinary individuals and the hardships they overcame to succeed. We are seeking a world-class Trailer and Clips Editor who understands the high-production, cinematic language of podcast industry leaders. Your mission is to take 60+ minutes of raw conversation and reverse-engineer it into high-impact, vertical, and horizontal trailers that move people emotionally and drive massive traffic to our long-form episodes. You are a master of the &quot;hook,&quot; an expert in digital retention, and a storyteller who knows how to make a 60-second video feel like an event. 
HOW YOU&rsquo;LL SPEND YOUR TIME:
<ul>
<li>Crafting 60&ndash;90 second pre-roll episode trailers that utilize sophisticated editorial rhythm, graphics, and establish an immediate emotional hook, and elevate the guest&rsquo;s narrative to a world-class level.</li>
<li>Working in close collaboration with the Long-Form Editor to review raw footage and identify 8&ndash;12 high-impact &quot;clippable&quot; moments per episode, ensuring a strategic mix of emotional stories, entertaining opinions, and actionable advice.</li>
<li>Implementing sophisticated text overlays, multi-cam re-framing, and B-roll integration in vertical formats to ensure the viewer's &quot;scroll&quot; is stopped within the first 3 seconds.</li>
<li>Tailoring clips specifically for the unique cultures of TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts to maximize organic reach and retention.</li>
<li>Working with our social team to analyze retention graphs on your clips and adjusting your editing style to maximize view duration and click-through rates.</li>
<li>Ensuring every piece of short-form content&mdash;from subtitles to color grading&mdash;meets our &quot;Prestige&quot; aesthetic and feels cohesive with our long-form episodes.</li>
<li>Working with our social team to analyze retention graphs on your clips and adjusting your editing style to maximize view duration and click-through rates.</li></ul> 
WHAT YOU HAVE:
<ul>
<li>5+ years of experience editing video content for high-profile podcasts or YouTube channels.</li>
<li>High-level understanding of how to edit content specifically for YouTube and other social platforms (e.g., TikTok, Instagram Reels).</li>
<li>Experience on a podcast that consistently ranks in the top 5% of all podcasts, with a minimum of 100,000+ downloads per episode within the first 30 days of release is preferred.</li>
<li>A track record of producing episodes that have been featured on top podcast charts (e.g., Apple Podcasts, Spotify) and have generated significant social media engagement and media attention.</li>
<li>High-energy editorial experience: A portfolio that showcases exceptional skill in crafting dynamic and compelling narrative arcs, with a specific emphasis on creating high-energy, attention-grabbing intros that hook listeners immediately.&quot;</li>
<li>A deep, intuitive understanding of human psychology and what makes a clip shareable. You don&rsquo;t just find &quot;good&quot; moments; you find &quot;unmissable&quot; ones.</li>
<li>Proven experience working alongside a Lead Editor to &quot;extract&quot; the best content from a sprawling conversation, knowing how to spot a narrative nugget that will perform high on social media.</li>
<li>3&ndash;5 years of experience specifically editing for vertical social platforms with a portfolio that showcases cinematic quality over basic captions-on-video edits.</li>
<li>Expertise with Adobe Creative Suite, with a primary focus on Adobe Premiere Pro.</li>
<li>An instinct for choosing and creating compelling story arcs..</li>
<li>The skill to take a 3-minute sprawling story and condense it into a punchy, 50-second &quot;viral arc&quot; without losing the guest's core message or emotional impact.</li>
<li>The experience to receive footage with minimal direction but still craft a highly engaging story.</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality work on tight deadlines.</li></ul> 
WHO OVERSEES YOU:

The Editor reports directly to the Podcast Producer and Post Production Manager. 


WHERE IT ALL GOES DOWN:

Our Editor will work remotely from home or personal office and will be required to utilize Changing Lives Productions time tracking software to log and submit work hours. 
WHEN THE MAGIC HAPPENS:

The typical work schedule is Monday - Friday, with schedule flexibility. This position often requires working long hours including nights and weekends.

We are looking for an exceptionally skilled, world-class Video Podcast Editor who doesn&rsquo;t just cut footage but truly understands the art of storytelling, retention, and emotional payoff. You will be responsible for transforming raw, long-form conversations into cinematic journeys that keep viewers engaged until the very end by building cliffhangers, powerful reveals, dynamic graphics and impactful emotional arcs.

This role requires a dedicated, mission-driven individual who can craft a compelling narrative with minimal direction and is passionate about our goal of changing lives through storytelling. You will take raw, high-stakes conversations and transform them into immersive journeys using sophisticated pacing, cinematic B-roll integration, and high-tension narrative arcs that keep viewers hooked from the first frame to the final second. 
HOW YOU&rsquo;LL SPEND YOUR TIME:
<ul>
<li>Identifying the most powerful emotional moments within a conversation and structuring episodes to create curiosity, momentum, and powerful reveals.</li>
<li>Using pacing, music, graphics and editing rhythm to amplify emotion, build tension, and highlight the critical turning points in a guest&rsquo;s story.</li>
<li>Integrating motion graphics, b-roll, and other visual elements to enhance the cinematic value and entertainment of each long-form episode.</li>
<li>Structuring edits to maximize watch time, building &quot;open loops&quot; to keep viewers watching, and identifying potential drop-off points to improve performance.</li>
<li>Managing all final subtitling, branding, and file organization to ensure every episode is polished and ready for global publishing.</li>
<li>Working closely with the creative team to refine the editorial voice of the show, implementing feedback quickly, and iterating on edits to meet high production standards.</li>
<li>Identifying emotional, high-engaging moments from the long-form podcast and working closely with our trailer/clips editor.</li></ul> 


WHAT YOU HAVE:
<ul>
<li>5+ years of experience editing long-form video content for high-profile podcasts, interviews, or documentary-style YouTube channels. Additional YT/social editing experience a plus.</li>
<li>Experience on a podcast that consistently ranks in the top 5% of all podcasts, with a minimum of 100,000+ downloads per episode within the first 30 days of release.</li>
<li>Natural instincts for story structure and pacing, knowing exactly when to hold on a moment, when to cut faster, and when silence is more powerful than music.</li>
<li>A high-level understanding of YouTube performance metrics and the ability to use narrative structure to keep people watching through attention dips.</li>
<li>Expertise in the Adobe Creative Suite, with a primary focus on Adobe Premiere Pro, and the ability to integrate motion graphics or storytelling overlays.</li>
<li>The ability to identify and highlight vulnerability, turning points, and inspiring moments that move an audience emotionally.</li>
<li>The experience to take raw footage with minimal direction and produce high-quality work on tight deadlines while working in a fast-paced, remote environment under strict deadlines.</li>
<li>An eye for emotional moments that will make for shareable content.</li>
<li>Deep fluency in the visual and narrative language of world-class podcasts, with the ability to benchmark against and implement the production standards of industry leaders.</li>
<li>Speed and velocity oriented to turn high quality content in short turnaround time.</li></ul>

The Editor reports directly to the Post Production Manager, and cross report to Podcast Producer.
