 What does a School Age Childcare Teacher do?
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Assist in planning, supervising, and implementing childcare programs in accordance with guidelines from State of California Community Care Licensing
 </li>
 <li>
 Supervises up to 14 children independently under the guidelines from State of California Community Care Licensing
 </li>
 <li>
 Supervises an Assistant or Associate Teacher with up to 28 children under the guidelines from the State of California Community Care Licensing
 </li>
 <li>
 Provides quality care and supervision to children (visual, proactive, interactive)
 </li>
 <li>
 Provide a safe environment for all children to thrive
 </li>
 <li>
 Guide behaviors using positive methods, keeping in mind each child&rsquo;s individual needs
 </li>
 <li>
 Carry out activities and lesson plans
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure the program is delivering Healthy Eating and Physical Activity (HEPA) standards
 </li>
 <li>
 Set up and clean-up of the program area including vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, trash removal, etc
 </li>
 <li>
 Provides exceptional customer service and fosters connections with children and families
 </li>
 <li>
 Participating and satisfactory completion of in-service trainings
 </li>
 <li>
 Create an environment that is welcoming, nurturing, and inclusive for all children and families
 </li>
 <li>
 Able to work collaboratively and respectfully as part of a staff team
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure building, grounds, and equipment are in working order. Report any concerns
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintain certifications and take advantage of professional growth opportunities
 </li>
 <li>
 Support the annual campaign process including education of members
 </li>
 <li>
 Understand your role as a mandated reporter of elder and child abuse. Report and respond to situations in accordance with policies and procedures

 Must be at least 18 years old
 </li>
 <li>
 High School Diploma or equivalent
 </li>
 <li>
 Must possess 12 units in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field
 </li>
 <li>
 6 months of experience in a childcare setting
 </li>
 <li>
 Complete required certifications within 60 days of hire
 </li>
 <li>
 Complete all required Branch and Position specific trainings as required within two weeks of hire
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to obtain Criminal Record Clearance
 </li>
 <li>
 Health Screening Report and negative TB test required prior to first day of employment
 </li>
 </ul>
