Position OverviewCharleston Medical Spa is seeking a South Carolina-licensed Physician (MD or DO) to serve as our Medical Director. This role provides clinical oversight across our rapidly growing aesthetic and wellness services, ensuring compliance, safety, and high-quality patient care.This position may be on-site or remote, in accordance with South Carolina supervision laws.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Provide medical oversight for all clinical services, including aesthetics and wellness treatments</li><li>Maintain treatment protocols and scope-of-practice guidelines</li><li>Oversee wellness programs (GLP-1 weight loss, peptides, hormone optimization)</li><li>Conduct chart reviews, quality assurance, and compliance audits</li><li>Ensure proper delegation to RNs, NPs, and PAs per South Carolina law</li><li>Maintain prescriptive authority oversight and medication protocols</li><li>Be available for consultation and clinical support as needed</li><li>Collaborate with leadership on growth and new service offerings</li></ul>South Carolina Compliance Requirements<ul><li>Active, unrestricted South Carolina medical license required</li><li>Ongoing supervision of delegated medical services</li><li>Responsible for clinical decisions, protocols, and patient safety</li><li>Establish written scope-of-practice agreements</li><li>Continuous supervision (not requiring constant physical presence)</li><li>Maintain independent medical judgment</li></ul>Ideal Candidate<ul><li>MD or DO with active South Carolina license</li><li>Interest or experience in:</li><li>Medical aesthetics (injectables, lasers, skin treatments)</li><li>Weight loss (GLP-1s), peptides, hormone therapy</li><li>Functional or preventative medicine</li><li>Collaborative, growth-oriented mindset</li><li>Medical Director experience preferred but not required</li></ul>Role Structure &amp; Flexibility:This role is designed with flexibility in mind. The Medical Director may work fully remotely in a strategic leadership capacity or choose to take on part-time or full-time in-office clinical responsibilities, based on experience and preference.
