We are seeking a detail-oriented Certified Coder to ensure accurate medical coding, support revenue integrity, and serve as a trusted resource to providers and business office teams.</p><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
What You Will Do</b></h2><ul><li>
Work assigned coding workqueues to support timely and accurate billing.</li><li>
Assign CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10, and modifier codes in accordance with coding guidelines and payer requirements.</li><li>
Review clinical documentation for completeness and accuracy; identify missing or insufficient information.</li><li>
Communicate with providers and staff to clarify documentation and coding questions.</li><li>
Perform chart and provider audits on an ad-hoc basis.</li><li>
Identify and report payer-specific coding issues and trends to leadership.</li><li>
Request hospital-based notes as needed to support accurate coding.</li><li>
Support coding-related appeals and follow-up on denials.</li><li>
Serve as a coding resource for providers, clinical staff, and business office teams.</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
A Typical Day</b></h2><p>
Monitor and work coding queues, review medical records, assign codes, respond to emails and in-basket messages, contact payers regarding coding-related denials, communicate with providers, and perform audits as needed.</p><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Schedule</b></h2><p>
Full-time, 40 hours per week. Monday&ndash;Friday with hours ranging between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.</p><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Work Environment</b></h2><p>
Remote/Home Office environment. Employee must have a dedicated, HIPAA-compliant workspace with high-speed internet and space for two monitors. Ability to work independently and remain productive in a remote setting is required.</p><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Travel</b></h2><p>
Onsite to Charlotte, NC offices as needed or requested</p><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
What You'll Bring</b></h2><ul><li>
High school diploma or GED required.</li><li>
Minimum of 3 years of medical experience in a physician practice or hospital setting.</li><li>
1 year of coding experience required; 2 years preferred.</li><li>
Coding certification required (AAPC or AHIMA: CPC, COC, CCS-P, CCS, or equivalent).</li><li>
Understanding of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, and modifiers.</li><li>
Knowledge of payer medical and reimbursement policies.</li><li>
Experience in Ophthalmology and/or Otolaryngology preferred, but not required.</li></ul></div><p></p>
