POSITION SUMMARY: Performs excellent patient care for all CT scan and x-rays. Quickly and accurately completes all paperwork to include orders, lab work and authorization confirmation. Monitoring the safety of patients pertaining to radiation and contrast dose.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Examines orders and verifies request on patients. Addresses any questionable orders to Radiologist before procedures. Operates CT equipment with proficiency. Operates Injector with proficiency</li>
<li>Operate X-ray equipment with proficiency</li>
<li>Paperwork/orders, email order request and authorization. Records medical history on designated history form. Correlates test results and other lab data with exam being performed</li>
<li>Performs IVs, give patients oral contrast, do lab work if needed</li>
<li>Monitor supplies/stock room</li>
<li>Communicate with radiologist for protocols as needed</li>
<li>Communicate with pacs/IT for imaging distribution if necessary</li>
</ul>
Minimum Qualifications: 
Education/Licensing/Certification: 
<ul>
<li>Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology</li>
<li>ARRT</li>
<li>BLS</li>
</ul>
Experience (years and type): 
<ul>
<li>2 years of Radiology experience</li>
</ul>
Knowledge and Skills: 
<ul>
<li>Must be able to perform procedures in accordance to the CR departmental protocols and standards. Operates CT scanners, X-ray equipment, IV contrast injectors O2 tanks. Computer literate and knowledgeable of CR programs</li>
<li>Must be up to date with local and federal regulations that apply to their licensure and role</li>
<li>Must be able to access all patient history to review any allergies that could interfere with the patient’s test</li>
<li>Must be able to communicate with the Radiologist or referring MD if a protocol needs to be obtained or a test needs to be altered</li>
<li>Must be able to report malfunctioning equipment to the Radiology engineer</li>
<li>Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift the appropriate weight determined by CR (50-75 lbs.)</li>
<li>Must have positive communication skills</li>
<li>Performs basic patient care functions and informs the Radiologist or nurse of any change in the patient’s condition if needed</li>
<li>Must be competent with IVs</li>
</ul>

POSITION SUMMARY: RN's are responsible for performing clinical duties within their designated scope of practice that also promotes excellent patient care. Administers appropriate medications to patients within assigned area of responsibility at the direction/order by the physician. RN's are responsible for accurate documentation of clinical history, maintain a radiation-protected environment for themselves and patients and can operate routine equipment as well as monitor CT IV's and sedation of patients.
 
Shift Details: M - F / 4/10s rotating days off
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Careful monitoring of the patient during Coronary CT Angiography</li>
<li>Responsible for accurate documentation of patients’ clinical history, administered procedures, medications and other pertinent patient care information in the medical record and CR RIS system</li>
<li>Assess and treat patients during procedures and during times of medical distress</li>
<li>Access patient's venous system by starting an IV or through an implanted port for contrast administration and or lab values</li>
<li>Administers medications under the direction of the provider to patients during radiologic procedures</li>
<li>Maintains and procures complete and accurate inventory of all necessary emergency medical supplies, including controlled substance count</li>
<li>Performs and abides by sterile technique standards</li>
<li>Complies with all CR organizational and clinical policy and procedures that apply to the role</li>
<li>Assists the technologist with patient throughout to maximize workflow efficiencies</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned</li>
</ul>
Minimum Qualifications: 
Education/Licensing/Certification: 
<ul>
<li>Associate degree/Junior College in Nursing</li>
<li>RN/LPN</li>
<li>ACLS/BLS</li>
</ul>
Experience (years and type): 
<ul>
<li>3-5 years of Radiology and Cardiac experience preferred</li>
</ul>
Knowledge and Skills: 
<ul>
<li>Must be up to date with local and federal regulations that apply to their licensure and role</li>
<li>Must be computer literate</li>
<li>Must be able to access a patient’s medical chart for anything that may interfere with their radiologic exam or procedure</li>
<li>Must be able to adequately update a patient’s medical chart for future clinicians needs</li>
<li>Must be able to lift 50-75 lbs.</li>
<li>Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time</li>
<li>Must have good communication skills</li>
</ul>
