<h1 class="jobSectionHeader">Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy
</h1>Chatham University welcomes applications for an Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy. This is a 12-month appointment, tenure-eligible position.
We are seeking an individual with expertise in Orthopedic Physical Therapy along with experience in Clinical Education who values collegiality and is motivated to contribute to the Program&rsquo;s excellent reputation for entry-level education.
As a faculty member on the tenure track, the candidate will be required to engage in teaching, scholarship, advising, and service, and must hold a license to practice as a physical therapist in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Duties and Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Teach content in orthopedic physical therapy (expertise demonstrated through work history, specialist certification, and/or research).
</li><li>Experience in clinical education (i.e., clinical instructor, clinical coordinator, or clinical experience management).
</li><li>Facilitate problem-based learning groups and update cases as needed.
</li><li>Collaborate with program faculty to ensure consistency with educational themes throughout the curriculum.
</li><li>Engage in program, college, and university activities to include professional service and scholarship within areas of interest, and in alignment with the program's mission.
</li><li>Contribute to curriculum development and program evaluation.
</li><li>Participate in DPT admissions activities.
</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director.
</li></ul>Qualifications:
<ul><li>One of the following is required:
<ul><li>A terminal academic degree completed or in progress (e.g., PhD, DSc, EdD)
</li><li>DPT combined with board certification (OCS or SCS preferred)
</li></ul></li><li>Current Pennsylvania physical therapy license or eligibility for licensure.
</li><li>Previous academic experience that includes lecture and/or lab instruction.
</li><li>Minimum of three years of full-time clinical experience.
</li><li>Established scholarly agenda/record of publication preferred.
