What will a Store Manager do?
Oversees the safety of Goodwill&rsquo;s (GIGCA) employees, participants, volunteers, customers, and protects the organization by implementing safety policies and programs to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
Store Manager manages the operations of donated merchandise in accordance with established business practices for the success of a retail store by developing sales and controlling expenses.
Job Functions
<ul><li>Punctual and dependable attendance.</li><li>
Manage budget and maintain expenditures in accordance with the Agency, departmental, and store financial goals.</li><li>
Comply with Agency policies and Donated Goods Retail standard operating procedures (SOPs) and the Agency&rsquo;s safety and security policies and procedures.</li><li>
Hire, fire, train, evaluate, motivate, develop, and supervise all store personnel to maintain and exceed the Agency&rsquo;s operational standards.</li><li>
Greet, assist, and provide excellent customer service to donors and customers.</li><li>
Resolve any complaints and communicate with the management team.</li><li>
Maintain proficiency for tasks required in all workstations.</li><li>
Monitor and maintain overall store appearance and housekeeping to Agency standards.</li><li>
Perform all functions performed by store personnel.</li><li>
Attend all meetings and training as required by the Agency and conduct all monthly meetings with store employees.</li><li>
Maintain all company records and reports accurately and in a timely fashion.</li><li>
Meet store sales goals and operate within budgetary guidelines.</li><li>
Oversee production and rotation of merchandise, ensure quality of merchandise and proper pricing.</li><li>
Review and be familiar with Goodwill Industries of the Greater Chattanooga Area safety policies, programs and procedures and adhere to all safety rules, regulations and safety codes. Attend safety training and meetings and report any unsafe work conditions, accidents or injuries immediately.</li><li>
Assist at other store locations as needed.
</li><li>Perform other duties and projects as assigned.</li></ul>
Key Knowledge And Experience<ul><li>
High School degree or GED, required.</li><li>
Associate degree or completion of related retail management course work preferred.</li><li>
5 years of experience in a supervisory role of 15 or more employees preferred and/or demonstrated success in a DGR leadership position with completion of Goodwill assigned training.</li><li>
High level of attention to detail.</li><li>
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills in English as well as interpersonal skills, bilingual a plus.</li><li>
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.</li><li>
Must be able to adapt to growth and a changing environment within the Agency.</li><li>
Ability to complete and maintain: CPR and First Aid certifications.</li><li>
Ability to transfer to any Goodwill Industries of the Greater Chattanooga Area within the territory.</li><li>
Reliable transportation and communication required.</li><li>
Must be available to work during operating business hours as needed for business operations. Work schedule includes days, evenings, holidays and blackout periods, weekends are required.</li><li>
Works 45 hours per week or more when required.</li></ul>
