<b>SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:</b><br>
The CHEER Academy Classroom Assistant plays a vital role in supporting instructors and ensuring a positive, accessible learning environment for senior participants. This position provides hands-on assistance during class sessions, helping with setup, participant engagement, and administrative tasks to enhance the overall class experience.</div>

<b>ESSENTIAL DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES:</b><br>

<div><ul><li>Classroom Setup &amp; Breakdown: Assist with preparing the classroom, ensuring materials, technology, and seating are arranged appropriately.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Participant Support: Provide assistance to seniors who may need help with mobility, materials, or following instructions during class.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Attendance Tracking: Record participant attendance and report data to administrative staff.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Material Distribution: Hand out learning materials, worksheets, and any necessary supplies during class.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Technology Assistance: Help set up and operate instructional technology, including large-screen displays and video conferencing tools, as needed.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Encouragement &amp; Engagement: Foster a welcoming atmosphere by encouraging participation, answering basic questions, and supporting seniors who may need extra guidance.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Classroom Safety &amp; Accessibility: Ensure that participants are comfortable and that any safety concerns (e.g., trip hazards, accessibility issues) are addressed.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Instructor Support: Assist the instructor with demonstrations, group activities, or hands-on exercises as needed.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Communication &amp; Reporting: Provide feedback to the Program Director regarding participant needs, challenges, or successes observed in class.</li></ul>

<ul><li>Minimum requirements for this position are:</li>
<li>Experience working with seniors preferred.</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills.</li>
<li>Patient, friendly, and supportive attitude.</li>
<li>Basic proficiency with technology, including video conferencing tools and presentations.</li>
<li>Ability to lift and move class materials as needed.</li>
<li>Dependability and punctuality.</li>
</ul>

<b>REPORTING: </b>This position reports to the CHEER Academy Program Manager<br>
<br>
<b>PRIMARY WORK LOCATION: </b>Most duties and functions will be conducted in one of the several CHEER facilities.<br>

<b>WORK HOURS: </b>Varies, up to 4 hours per class</div>
