Your role in our success:

The Service Tech Apprentice will participate in a structured, hands-on training program to learn the foundational skills of both the Propane Service Technician and/or Delivery Driver roles. This position supports the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, and delivery of propane systems and products to residential, commercial, and industrial customers. Under direct supervision, the apprentice will rotate through duties to develop the competencies needed for career advancement within the propane field operations team.

What you'll be working on:
<ul>
<li>Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of propane tanks, gas lines, regulators, and appliances.</li>
<li>Shadow licensed service technicians and CDL drivers to learn safety protocols, troubleshooting, leak detection, and system testing.</li>
<li>Participate in ride-along and support delivery of propane products using bobtail or cylinder trucks (as applicable).</li>
<li>Assist in reading pressure gauges, meters, and service logs while learning to complete all required documentation accurately.</li>
<li>Learn to perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations.</li>
<li>Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at job sites and company facilities.</li>
<li>Attend all safety and technical training sessions, including those required for CDL licensing and CETP certification.</li>
<li>Interact with customers professionally to provide information, answer questions, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.</li>
<li>
<div>Serve on the on-call rotation and respond to emergency service calls.</div>
</li>
<li>Any additional tasks as instructed by management.</li>
</ul>
Who you are:
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent</li>
<li>Entry level position, some mechanical knowledge preferred.</li>
<li>Ability to obtain Commercial Driver&rsquo;s License required Class B with Hazmat and tanker endorsements within 6 months of employment.</li>
<li>DOT Physical required within 60 days.</li>
<li>General mechanical aptitude (hand tools).</li>
<li>Basic computer skills.</li>
<li>Good communication and teamwork skills.</li>
<li>Able to effectively communicate in a team environment and with customers.</li>

Propane Service Tech Apprentice

Your role in our success will be:

This is an advanced technical position in the Engineering Department. Supports distribution operations in regulatory affairs and facility design. Evaluates, plans, and designs major construction projects. Secures regulatory approvals to complete project installations. Facilitates project development in conjunction with District Operations and Sales &amp; Marketing, including managing and prioritizing project design schedules. Coordinates with GIS to ensure accurate and up-to-date records of the gas distribution system.

What you&rsquo;ll be working on:
<ul>
<li>Assist the Engineering Manager with planning and design on various design projects, prioritize project schedules, and staff assignments.</li>
<li>Prepares, reviews, and approves distribution system project Tie-in, Gas Up, Gas Out procedures on projects.</li>
<li>Represents the Department at meetings with regulatory and permitting agencies.</li>
<li>Design distribution system projects including expansion, renewals, reinforcing and relocation projects.</li>
<li>Prepares and submits design drawing and permit applications for new services and retirement of existing services.</li>
<li>Prepares base maps using GPS equipment to locate existing field conditions.</li>
<li>Secure permits, rights-of-way and other regulatory permits.</li>
<li>Reviews, comments, and approves project drawings prior to release to Field Coordinators and permitting agencies.</li>
<li>Create and review project construction folders for completeness prior to release to Field Coordinators.</li>
<li>Complete essential documentation for projects.</li>
<li>Act as a department liaison with District Operations and Energy Services / Marketing Division.</li>
<li>Ensures compliance with the Department CAD standards and templates.</li>
<li>Assist in distribution system operations.</li>
<li>Assist in the design of Meter and Regulator Stations.</li>
<li>Coordination with GIS on completed construction projects</li>
<li>Gathers field information and prepares easement agreements, easement drawings, and descriptions.</li>
<li>Assists with other duties as assigned.</li>
<li>Knowledge of, supports and participates in the Company&rsquo;s Brand DNA, Service Excellence Standards and the Shield Safety Program.</li>
</ul>

<li>Work in or around traffic while performing field surveys and other field tasks</li>
<li>Work around hazardous / flammable products</li>
<li>Possible out of town overnight assignments</li>
</ul>
Who you are:
<ul>
<li>Associate's degree or higher, specialized training in CAD</li>
<li>5-10 years of experience</li>
<li>Valid Driver&rsquo;s License</li>
<li>Extensive knowledge of AutoCAD and ability to create, perform edits and revisions</li>
<li>Knowledge of materials, software, and equipment used for drafting, surveying and electronic mapping including GPS</li>
<li>Ability to read and interpret engineering plans prepared by others (internal and external)</li>
<li>Advanced mathematics</li>
<li>Ability to use an engineer&rsquo;s scale and scientific calculator</li>
<li>Proficient in the use of standard business software (Microsoft Word, Excel and Windows)</li>
<li>Excellent communication and customer relation skills</li>
<li>Excellent record keeping skills</li>
<li>Federal, State, Municipal, railroad regulatory permitting requirements</li>
<li>Company and industry standards, designs and practices</li>
<li>Company safety rules, regulations, procedures, policies and manuals</li>
