Responsible for litigating own caseload of significant workers&rsquo; compensation cases. Qualifications</b><div></div><p><b><br>
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES</b></p><ul><li> Handles own caseload of workers&rsquo; compensation cases through all phases of litigation. This requires frequent appearances in court for hearings and arbitrations, taking and defending of depositions, preparing and deposing witnesses and expert witnesses, legal and medical research, and drafting of pleadings and motions. Has skills and experience to &ldquo;first chair&rdquo; any workers&rsquo; compensation matters involving the CTA.</li><li> Supervises the work of Chief, Senior, and Associate attorneys, paralegals, and other support staff in area including mentoring and skill development.</li><li> Provides advice and counseling directly to the Workers&rsquo; Compensation Department, CTA&rsquo;s third-party administrator and all other CTA departments.</li><li> Handles various administrative responsibilities&mdash;e.g., evaluations, invoice processing, Law Dept. committees, etc.</li><li> Hires, trains, develops, monitors, and evaluates performance of staff. Reviews and recommends personnel actions for approval.</li><li> Performs related duties as assigned.</li></ul><p><b>

WORKING CONDITIONS</b></p><ul><li> Usual office working conditions.</li><li> Make regular site visits to non-office locations (e.g. court, client site, Third Party Administrator etc.).</li><li> This position is considered a &quot;C-List&quot; position under the &ldquo;Revolving Door&rdquo; prohibition within the State Officials and Employees Act (5 ILCS 430/5-45), which contains a number of post-employment restrictions CTA employees in C-list designated positions must follow. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES</b></p><ul><li>
Analyses, designs, develops, and implements, learning solutions including but not limited to: Web-based Training, Virtual Instructor Led Training, Learning Labs, Simulations, Virtual Environments, and other Employee Performance Support web-based solutions.</li><li>
Creates course content, facilitator guides, manuals, test criteria, reference materials, and learning aids for training classes.</li><li>
Identifies expected outcomes for courses and monitors to ensure achievement of outcomes.</li><li>
Partners with stakeholders to determine training needs.</li><li>
Reviews materials for quality control and to keep learning information interactive and updated according to industry standards.</li><li>
Reviews stakeholders needs, designs strategic approaches for implementation of eLearning solutions, and validates with stakeholders and Training and Workforce Development (TWD) leadership.</li><li>
Obtains approval for updated training programs.</li><li>
Utilizes the Learning Management System (LMS) to develop learning initiatives and training programs that align with the department's workforce development plan</li><li>
Produces and distribute training program and learner reports via the LMS system that meet regulatory requirements and stakeholder needs.</li><li>
Utilizes instructional technology to develop training programs and to enhance learning initiatives as appropriate</li><li>
Conducts train-the-trainer sessions and develops training aids to support internal customers.</li><li>
Assures the scheduling, and quality of approved courses.</li><li>
Serve as TWD liaison with IT. Identifies all technology needs in the field to effectively roll out an authority wide eLearning program and LMS system. Champions, advocates and serves as TWD project support for appropriate equipment acquisition and software needs.</li><li>
Evaluates vendors/external training courses and recommends the acquisition of same to supplement internal training programs. Secures/confirms approved vendors and is responsible for related logistics and communications.</li><li>
Maintains and participates in web-based learning organizations/communities, shares best practices with TWD team members, and implements online industry best practices where appropriate.</li><li>
Conducts peer-to-peer design workshops to discuss and implement best practices.</li><li>
Conducts peer-to-peer project reviews and provides structured feedback.</li><li>
Completes peer proofreading to ensure accuracy and consistency of modules</li><li>
Assists department in train-the-trainer sessions and observation audits.</li><li>
