Position Summary
The IT Specialist is responsible for delivering technical support and ensuring the smooth operation of the organization&rsquo;s IT systems. This role will help manage the IT helpdesk ticket queue, troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues, and provide timely assistance to end-users. The IT Specialist will also handle user provisioning and account management, administer the Microsoft 365 tenant, and assist with maintaining system security and compliance. This position requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical staff.
Duties and Responsibilities (not all inclusive):<ul><li>
Administer and maintain Microsoft 365 environment, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive</li><li>
Manage user accounts, groups, and permissions through Entra ID Active Directory</li><li>
Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network issues.</li><li>
Monitor the helpdesk ticketing software daily</li><li>
Provide application support for EHR</li><li>
Administer phone PBX and configure VOIP phones</li><li>
Monitor system performance and assist with implementing security best practices</li><li>
Manage BYOD devices via Microsoft Intune</li><li>
Support deployment and troubleshooting of Windows 11 devices and other IT hardware</li><li>
Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps</li><li>
Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve technical issues</li><li>
Assist the Director of IT with IT projects and system upgrades</li></ul>
Requirements:

Education and/or Experience:<ul><li>
High School Diploma or equivalent required</li><li>
1-3 years' experience in IT Desktop Support preferred</li></ul>
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:<ul><li>
Strong customer service and technical support skills, with the ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and application issues in a timely and professional manner.</li><li>
Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Active Directory / Entra ID, and endpoint management tools (such as Intune), including user provisioning, access management, and basic security practices.</li><li>
Foundational understanding of Windows-based systems, networking concepts, and common IT infrastructure components, including desktops, laptops, peripherals, and mobile devices.</li><li>
Ability to follow and support IT security, data protection, and compliance standards while maintaining accurate documentation of systems, configurations, and support activities.</li><li>
Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical users, manage multiple priorities, and work productively with internal teams and external vendors.</li><li>
Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies, systems, and processes in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.</li></ul>
Physical Demands:<ul><li>
Ability to safely lift and carry IT equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, as required for hardware installation and support.</li><li>
Ability to occasionally bend, reach, kneel, or crouch to access workstations, cabling, or equipment in office or program settings.</li></ul>
