We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Psychiatrist to join Ramapo Ridge. The Psychiatrist will provide professional time to the Ramapo Ridge inpatient unit maintaining the quality of care in a professional manner to all patients assigned to him/her. Functions as Psychiatrist and provides needed therapeutic intervention as appropriate to patient's needs. The Psychiatrist will need to be competent to care for patients in the following age groups: adult (ages 19 - 64) and geriatric (ages 65 +). Demonstrates an understanding of, and embraces, the mission statement of Christian Health.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
Competencies:</b></div><ul><li>
Communicates with the treatment team regarding patient care.</li><li>
Follows policies and procedures of the hospital.</li><li>
The individual is competent to care for patients in the following age groups: child/adolescent (ages 14 - 18), adult (ages 19 - 64), geriatric (ages 65+).</li><li>
Provides commitment certificates as requested.</li><li>
Follows the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Bylaws of the medical staff of the hospital.</li><li>
Provides patient care services within the scope of clinical privileges granted by the governing body.</li><li>
Prepares/updates treatment plan/individualized care on a timely basis.</li><li>
Serves as attending Psychiatrist for assigned patients.</li><li>
Performs psychiatric (mental status) evaluation.</li><li>
Provides leadership to professional and clinical staff.</li><li>
Attends commitment hearings as required.</li><li>
Monitors/reassess psychiatric status of patients.</li><li>
Performs admission history.</li><li>
Chairs treatment team meetings for those patients assigned to his/her care on admission and weekly.</li><li>
Perform timely charting and documentation of all care provided, in compliance with all applicable regulations and standards.</li><li>
Screens and admits patients to hospital.</li><li>
Provides Psychotherapy to assigned patients as needed.</li><li>
Attends Medical staff meetings as required.</li><li>
Dictates discharge summaries in a timely manner.</li><li>
Provides coverage as assigned.</li><li>
Serves as on call Psychiatrist for the hospital, at night and on weekends as assigned.</li><li>
Provides supervision to clinical staff as assigned/is necessary.</li><li>
Provides patient care services within the scope of clinical privileges granted by the governing body.</li></ul><div></div><div><b><br>
Schedule: </b>Full-time, Exempt position, On-call rotation required.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
Education:</b></div><ul><li>
Graduate of a Medical School approved by the Council on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association and successful completion of Residency Training in General Psychiatry.</li><li>
Licensed to practice medicine in the State of New Jersey.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><br>

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Demonstrates compliance with the CH ASPIRE Standards of Performance.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
Qualifications:</b></div><ul><li>
Minimum one year experience as a staff psychiatrist preferred.</li><li>
Excellent communication skills are required in order to effectively handle referrals and consultations with various other staff members and outside professionals as required.</li></ul><p>
