ENT in Elkton is located at 111 West High Street, Suite 303 in Elkton, Maryland. You will join a team of one Otolaryngologist who specializes in head and neck problems, including hearing loss, sleep apnea, tonsillectomies, and tumors. They provide medical and surgical care for conditions like ear infections, tinnitus, dizziness, vertigo, snoring, and obstructive sleep apnea.

Duties / Responsibilities: 
The Medical Office Assistant II manages patient interactions, scheduling, records, referrals, insurance verification, and payments, including day-end reconciliation. They train staff, handle inventory, coordinate testing and appointments, support administrative tasks, ensure safety compliance, and maintain professionalism while performing other related duties as needed. 
Position Qualifications:<ul><li>
High School Graduate or GED required.</li><li>
2 years&rsquo; experience in a medical office setting is required; 3 years&rsquo; experience is preferred.</li></ul>

This role is a dedicated transporter position stationed specifically in the ED, supporting timely, safe, and compassionate patient movement throughout the hospital during high‑acuity and fast‑paced situations.

Primary Function<div>
Safely and efficiently transport patients and clinical items to and from the Emergency Department while providing exceptional customer service and support to patients, families, and clinical staff.
Key Responsibilities<ul><li>
Transport patients via stretcher, wheelchair, bed, or specialized transport equipment to and from the ED and other hospital departments</li><li>
Serve as a dedicated member of the Emergency Department care team, responding quickly to transport needs in a fast‑paced environment</li><li>
Assist ED clinical staff with patient transfers and positioning</li><li>
Maintain safety by following departmental policies, procedures, and infection prevention guidelines</li><li>
Pick up and deliver equipment, specimens, medication, and paperwork as appropriate</li><li>
Assist with care, cleaning, and maintenance of transport equipment</li><li>
Act as a subject matter expert for patient transport protocols and safety standards</li><li>
Support dispatch operations as needed</li><li>
Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold a courteous, service‑oriented attitude at all times</li><li>
Participate in training, in‑services, and department meetings as required</li></ul>
Education &amp; Experience<ul><li>
High school diploma or equivalent required</li><li>
Previous patient escort or patient transport experience strongly preferred</li><li>
Minimum of two years of customer service experience</li><li>
Ability to obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire</li></ul>
Required Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities<ul><li>
Knowledge of hospital layout and departments (or ability to learn quickly)</li><li>
Strong verbal communication and customer service skills</li><li>
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions</li><li>
Knowledge of basic body mechanics and safe patient handling</li><li>
Comfort using smartphones and basic computer systems (email, scheduling, timekeeping)</li><li>

This position has a starting rate of $18.08 per hour, regardless of prior experience. After six months of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $21.15 per hour. After one year of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $22.18 per hour.
