Join <b>CHS </b>at our union lubricants manufacturing facility in <b>Inver Grove Heights, MN</b>, where safety, reliability, and teamwork are at the center of everything we do. As a <b>2</b><b>nd</b><b> shift</b> <b>Union Maintenance Mechanic</b>, you'll play a critical role in keeping our plant operating safely and efficiently by maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving electrical, instrumentation, and facility systems. This position offers <b>2</b><b>nd</b><b> Shift hours 3:00pm-11:00pm Monday - Friday</b>, onsite training, competitive pay &amp; benefits, and the opportunity to be a part of the largest cooperative in the U.S. This position works closely with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to support production, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, respond to equipment issues, and help drive continuous improvement across the facility.</p><p></p><p><br>

Responsibilities</b></h2>
</div><div><ul><li>Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical, electronic, instrumentation, and mechanical systems throughout the facility.</li><li>
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment failures to minimize downtime and support safe, efficient plant operations.</li><li>
Install, maintain, test, and calibrate electrical and instrumentation equipment in accordance with plant standards and applicable codes.</li><li>
Support electrical construction, equipment installations, and plant improvement projects alongside maintenance, engineering, and contractor teams.</li><li>
Identify, report, and help correct unsafe conditions while supporting a strong safety culture throughout the facility.</li><li>
Participate in plant inspections, safety initiatives, and incident investigations as needed.</li><li>
Maintain work areas, electrical rooms, shops, and storage areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.</li><li>
Work collaboratively with operations and engineering teams to identify process improvements and resolve equipment reliability issues.</li><li>
Follow established maintenance procedures and recommend improvements to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.</li><li>
Assist in maintaining appropriate spare parts inventory levels and communicate inventory needs to support uninterrupted operations.</li><li>
Complete maintenance work orders and maintain accurate equipment, repair, and maintenance records.</li><li>
Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and equipment documentation to support troubleshooting and repair activities.</li><li>
Support continuous improvement efforts focused on safety, reliability, productivity, and operational excellence.</li></ul></div></div><div><div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Minimum Qualifications (required)</b></h2>
</div><div><ul><li>1+ years in Maintenance</li></ul></div></div><div><div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Additional Qualifications</b></h2>
</div><div><ul><li><div>Experience performing maintenance in a lubricants, chemical processing, refinery, manufacturing, industrial production, or similar heavy industrial environment.</div></li><li><div>
Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated production equipment.</div></li><li>
Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons to meet business demands</li><li>
High School diploma or GED preferred</li><li>

Responsibilities</b></h2>
</div><div><ul><li>As directed, carry out general labor responsibilities promptly and efficiently. Responsibilities may include:</li><li>
Develop and maintain knowledge of the commodities handled at the location and comply with company policy and government regulations pertaining to commodities.</li><li>
Work with customers in a courteous and professional manner.</li><li>
Prepare trucks and railcars for loading/unloading, which may require sampling, loosening large nuts, opening hatches, and attaching and/or detaching flexible hoses.</li><li>
Load and unload agricultural inputs from railcars and/or trucks using heavy or light duty machinery/equipment. May include bulk and or packaged material.</li><li>
Control and monitor all load out functions.</li><li>
Understand and operate automated scale/dump systems.</li><li>
Conduct and properly record daily, weekly and monthly maintenance tasks including but not limited to lubrication of pumps, valves, and loading arms. Inspect in-use equipment looking for seeps and leaks of process equipment.</li><li>
Monitor and maintain quality of inventory (may include blended, bulk or packaged product).</li><li>
Deliver products such as fertilizer, chemical, seed, feed and others to customer sites.</li><li>
Keep all work areas in a clean, orderly and safe condition. Conduct regular housekeeping duties such as sweeping, shoveling, power washing, scraping and cleaning up spills. Complete appropriate record keeping.</li><li>
Perform grounds maintenance including snow removal.</li><li>
Perform warehouse work including driving loader, loading/unloading inventory, forklift operation, and general maintenance.</li><li>
Promptly report any customer complaints, repair or maintenance needs, or safety concerns to supervisor.</li><li>
Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.</li><li>
Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.</li><li>
Perform other duties as needed or assigned to ensure facility operates smoothly and customers receive excellent customer service.</li></ul></div></div><div><div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
