<div>Overview:
<div>
Performs a lead role within the Landscape Team in the day-to-day horticultural and landscaping activities affecting the casino and hotel grounds, off-site properties, and/or any other assigned areas.</div>
Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Guides, supports, and trains the Landscape Gardener on proper maintenance techniques of various landscaped environments.</li><li>
Maintains native and adaptive landscapes by pruning and trimming flowers, shrubs, and trees within the guidelines required be each variety.</li><li>
Controls weeds of landscaped areas, fertilizes as needed, and may edge or mow.</li><li>
Identifies, prevents, controls, and treats plant diseases, as directed.</li><li>
Identifies and controls problems with pests, such as gophers, snails, aphids, etc.</li><li>
May assist in irrigation activities as needed.</li><li>
Reports to the Landscape Manager situations that require attention or are potential problem areas beyond day-to-day responsibilities.</li><li>
Trains, mentors, develops, coaches, resolves problems, provides open communication vehicles, and recommends disciplinary actions as appropriate.</li><li>
Builds a work environment that promotes teamwork, partnership, recognition, mutual respect, collaboration, performance feedback/management, and Team Member satisfaction while role modeling the company values, behaviors, and culture of One.Team.Chumash.
</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned.
</li></ul>Qualifications:
<ul><li>High School Diploma or GED Certificate.</li><li>
Two years of experience in commercial horticulture/landscape experience.</li><li>
One year of prior experience in a supervisory or lead capacity.</li><li>
Must participate and complete required ongoing departmental training.</li><li>
Must hold a valid California driver's license and meet the insurance requirements of Chumash Enterprises.</li><li>
Knowledge of plant types, trees, shrubs, groundcovers, and weed species.</li><li>
Knowledge of pruning, planting, staking, and deadheading.</li><li>
Knowledge of irrigation systems.</li><li>
Basic computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft applications, e-mail, and internet.</li><li>
Willingness to work flexible schedules in a 24/7 work environment, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
</li><li>Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.</li><li>

Location: 3400 Highway 246 Minimum Pay Rate: $18.50 per hour Maximum Pay Rate: $20.86 per hour</div>
