Summary: The Line Mechanic C is responsible for maintaining and repairing machinery and equipment used in production lines within a manufacturing facility. The role includes troubleshooting mechanical issues, performing routine maintenance to prevent equipment failures, and ensuring that machines operate efficiently and safely. The Line Mechanic C will work closely with production teams to minimize downtime and improve productivity while adhering to protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Essential Functions:<ul><li>
Must have ability to change over, maintain, and repair packaging machinery and related equipment in the required timeframe.</li><li>
Alert management in a timely manner of any mechanical issues that could possibly shutdown, and/or effect efficiencies on packaging lines. Maintain daily logs of the line.</li><li>
In conjunction with Production Supervisor and Line Resource Operator, train and develop Operators, Line Technicians, and Line Leaders on operating packaging equipment.</li><li>
Must be able to run effectively at a minimum without retraining, at least 2 types of lines from the following; Dental, AP/DEO, Nair, Household, Display, and Aerosol.</li><li>
Continuous and ongoing training of all lines will be required throughout the year and will be measured every 6 months utilizing the 3-Step training assessment.</li><li>
Perform routine and scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment, troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and identify persistent problems to ensure maximum operation and minimal downtime.</li><li>
Perform scheduled set-ups and changeovers.</li><li>
Perform repair/replacement of equipment on production lines with appropriate follow-up documentation and work order requests through SAP.</li><li>
Determine the root cause of equipment failure and execute actions to prevent future occurrence.</li><li>
Ensure packaging line equipment is running efficiently.</li><li>
Maintain a clean work environment.</li><li>
Adhere to department&rsquo;s GMP&rsquo;s, JSA&rsquo;s and SOP&rsquo;s</li><li>
Wear appropriate PPE.( Ear protection, Hairnets, Beard nets and eye protection, Steal Toe Shoes)</li><li>
Adhere to all safety procedures.</li><li>
Participates in all job-related safety training and personally complies with all safety policies and procedures.</li><li>
Will receive general orientation, job specific, and refresher training relative to the hazardous chemicals they may handle in the course of performing their jobs.</li><li>
Will comply with all NJ laws and company policies/procedures while sampling, unloading, pre-weighing, transferring, and/or handling, hazardous chemicals.</li><li>
Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul>
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:<ul><li>
Full knowledge of hand tools required.</li><li>
Strong electro mechanical trouble shooting skills.</li><li>
Ability to train and develop operators, Line Technicians and Line Leaders in the operation of packaging equipment and to assist in line set-up, changeovers &amp; PM&rsquo;s.</li><li>
Must possess attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks and maintaining workstation.</li><li>
Computer literate including MSWord/Excel</li><li>
Must possess working knowledge of FDA and GMP regulation. Experience in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and 5S practices is a plus.</li><li>
Knowledge of Programmable Logic Control (PLC), Electrical &amp; Sensor Technology (types of installations, trouble shooting, diagnosis and operation)</li><li>
Knowledge of hydraulic &amp; pneumatics.</li><li>
Knowledge of Machine Shop skills.</li></ul>
Education and Experience:<ul><li>
HS diploma or equivalent require along with relevant vocational/technical school certifications.</li><li>
At least 2 years technical degree and/or experience as a packaging line mechanic in a food, cosmetic or pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.</li></ul>
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $36.94-$38.69. This position is also eligible for a bonus.

Line Mechanic C- Afternoons

OBJECTIVES: Safely operate manufacturing equipment to produce quality products. Understand production requirements. Perform Autonomous Maintenance tasks to maintain equipment and work area. Work cooperatively with employees to fulfill all line responsibilities each shift. 
RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>
Demonstrate safety ownership by wearing required PPE and following LOTO procedures at all times. Report near miss safety incidents and conditions each month. Comply with all Plant Safety, ISO, OSHA procedures, and other programs.</li><li>
Learn and demonstrate excellence in quality though first-time right production and documentation on assigned line(s).</li><li>
Learn and complete autonomous maintenance activities on assigned equipment and actively submit work orders.</li><li>
Understand rate, daily OEE, and production requirements.</li><li>
Complete all machine operation training and assessments on assigned line and operate without supervision.</li><li>
Learn and consistently complete all line tech responsibilities including but not limited to: 5S, line boards updated every shift, downtime tracking and participate in Tier meetings.</li><li>
Maintain and demonstrate a positive attitude toward team members on all shifts, management, and plant processes/policies.</li><li>
Actively engage in driving out losses using Lean methods. Suggests and participates in improvement Kaizen events/teams.</li><li>
Strive for knowledge and skill to positively solve personnel and equipment issues. Work cooperatively with other Technicians and Coworkers.</li><li>
Cross training on all department equipment is mandatory:</li><li>
a. Line areas</li><li>
i. Startup operation</li><li>
ii. Shutdown operation</li><li>

c. Scent Booster processing operation</li><li>
Obtain a working knowledge of and be able to demonstrate all SOPs applicable to processing.</li><li>
Capable of batching all Salt batches with minimal supervision. Includes printing and following batching formulations.</li><li>
Performs training for newly hired technicians as well as monitor the Proof of Knowledge process for mandated training. 14. Work overtime as required.</li><li>

Prefer at least one years&rsquo; experience related to this position in high-speed manufacturing such as in the pharmaceutical, consumer products, food and/or medical device industry.

Must be able to use electrical and/or hand trucks, tools and all equipment safely.

Non-Dental Functions</h3><ul><li>
Transfer semi-finished product from the main vessel to tote run tank</li><li>
Perform manual additions 80%&ndash;100% of the workday</li><li>
Work daily with corrosives, acids, toxic materials, oxidizers, and high-temperature unfinished products</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
Dental and Non-Dental Functions</h3><ul><li>
Perform washouts, purges, and all required paperwork, including batch changes, to maintain production lines</li><li>
Report to the Processing Supervisor to receive daily assignments</li><li>
Stage batches using a fork truck</li><li>
Add dry and liquid raw materials into blenders</li><li>
Properly label tanks, totes, samples, and related materials</li><li>
Run multiple pieces of equipment simultaneously (e.g., charging raw materials to the main vessel while preparing pre-mixes)</li><li>
Follow batch sheet instructions and sign off on each step of the process (FDA required)</li><li>
Obtain samples from each batch and submit them to the Quality Department for approval</li><li>
Manage bulk liquid and dry inventory using the WMS system</li><li>
Perform OSHA-required forklift safety inspections and complete checklists</li><li>
Wear appropriate PPE and follow all safety procedures</li><li>
Maintain a clean and organized work area</li><li>
Adhere to departmental SOPs, GMPs, and JSAs</li><li>
Participate in all job-related safety training and comply with all safety policies and procedures</li><li>
Receive general orientation, job-specific training, and refresher training related to hazardous chemicals handled</li><li>
Comply with all NJ laws and company policies when sampling, unloading, pre-weighing, transferring, and/or handling hazardous chemicals</li><li>

Operate an automated control process using an HMI touchscreen to process semi-finished product</li><li>
Connect dedicated hoses to transfer raw materials from tankers to pre-fill batch hoppers</li><li>
Manually introduce raw materials into the main vessel through a vacuum system</li><li>
Batch and supply production lines with product via storage or totes</li><li>
Work with oxidizers and toxic raw materials</li><li>
Maintain the LPD skid to support daily packaging line requirements</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
Education &amp; Experience Required</h2><ul><li>
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)</li><li>
Chemical aptitude with experience in chemical mixing and batching processes</li><li>
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Compounder/Batch Maker in a fast-paced manufacturing environment (FDA environment preferred)</li><li>
Experience with WMS systems is a plus</li><li>
Must pass a respiratory fit test to wear a respirator</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
