<div>The Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation (CiTi BOCES) invites you to apply to be a part of Synergy Plus, a virtual 6:1:2 special education program. Synergy Plus is a 100% virtual opportunity to deliver one to one or small group live virtual instruction based on student individual needs and subject areas during the school day.
CiTi is seeking individuals who are flexible, creative, innovative, who think fluidly in a dynamic work environment, and will work to provide unique learning opportunities for students. Candidates must have instructional technology skills, be well versed in virtual learning, or have an aptitude for virtual learning as well as being a quick learner. Knowledge of instructional software and tools are a must and candidates must be able to foster a positive and engaging learning environment in a virtual community.
Classes are taught in a synchronous interactive videoconferencing environment while using a learning management system platform. Teaching Assistants are expected to support live virtual interactive classes, engage students in meaningful learning experiences, track student progress, and communicate with students and guardians. Strong collaboration, communication, and instructional technology skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities: (all must be done in a virtual live environment)

</li></ul></div><ul><li>Assist the instructor with lesson planning, material preparation, and classroom setup.
</li><li>Support classroom management and facilitate a positive learning environment.
</li><li>Provide individual or small group assistance to students during instructional activities.
</li></ul><div><ul><li>Lab and Workshop Assistance:
</li></ul></div><ul><li>Assist in the setup, maintenance, and organization of lab and workshop areas.
</li><li>Supervise students during hands-on activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
</li><li>Support the instructor in conducting demonstrations and practical exercises.
</li></ul><div><ul><li>Administrative Support:
</li></ul></div><ul><li>Assist the teacher in maintaining accurate records of student attendance.
</li><li>Assist in preparing instructional materials such as worksheets, handouts, and presentations.
</li><li>Help organize and manage an inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
</li></ul><div><ul><li>Student Support:
</li></ul></div><ul><li>Provide academic support for all students.
</li><li>Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
</li><li>Mentor students and encourage their development of skills in the trades.
</li></ul><div><ul><li>Program Enhancement:
</li></ul></div><ul><li>Collaborate with the instructor to develop and improve the curriculum.
</li><li>Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with industry trends and educational practices.
</li><li>Assist in promoting the program through events, presentations, and community outreach. 
</li></ul> 
Job Qualifications 
<ul>
<li>NYS Teacher&rsquo;s Assistant Certification -level 1, 2, or 3 (or ability &amp; willingness to obtain)
</li><li>Education: preferred: Associate&rsquo;s or Advanced degree in specified trades area, education, or a related field.
</li><li>Experience: Previous experience in the specified field, as well as industry-specific certifications are highly desirable. Experience working with high school students is a plus.
</li></ul>Skills:
<ul><li>Strong knowledge of a virtual environment.
</li><li>Excellent organizational and communication skills.
</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively with instructors, students, and staff.
</li><li>Proficiency in using educational technology and software.
</li><li>Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
