 Job Description
 
 
 
 The Transportation Assistant Coordinator supports the planning and execution of transportation operations for events at Circuit of The Americas (COTA). This role provides critical administrative and on-site support to ensure smooth parking, traffic flow, and shuttle services during a wide range of events including motorsport races, concerts, festivals, and private rentals. Working closely with the Lead Transportation Coordinator and other team members, the Transportation Assistant Coordinator helps organize logistics, coordinate resources, and provide hands-on assistance during event operations.***This is an on-site, temporary contract position for MotoGP. The dates of employment are March 24th &ndash; March 29th***

 Requirements &amp; Essential Functions
 
 
 
 <ul>

 Assist in coordinating parking and transportation plans for events, including signage, staffing, and lot organization.
 </li>
 <li>
 Support the Transportation Team in securing off-site parking locations and preparing logistics for major events.
 </li>
 <li>
 Help maintain inventory and records of transportation vehicles, equipment, and supplies.
 </li>
 <li>
 Assist with scheduling and communication for shuttle drivers, parking attendants, and contracted staff.
 </li>
 <li>
 Provide administrative support including preparing training materials, compiling credential examples, and updating documentation.
 </li>
 <li>
 Support pre- and post-event inspections of parking areas and transportation equipment.
 </li>
 <li>
 Assist with on-site guest services such as ADA transportation support during events.
 </li>
 <li>
 Serve as a point of communication for vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders as directed.
 </li>
 <li>
 Provide hands-on support during events to ensure transportation and traffic plans are executed smoothly.

Job Description:
The Seasonal Part-Time Shuttle Driver &amp; Spotter plays a key role in delivering safe, efficient, and welcoming transportation experience for guests, staff, and performers during events at Circuit of The Americas. Shuttle Drivers &amp; Spotters are responsible for operating buses or shuttle vehicles on designated routes, assisting passengers, and ensuring timely and courteous service during high-volume events including Formula 1, NASCAR, MotoGP, concerts, and festivals.
This position is event-based and ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
Requirements:

Requirements &amp; Essential Functions:<ul><li>
Safely transport guests, staff, vendors, and performers to and from predetermined locations including parking areas, entrances, shuttle stops, and event venues.</li><li>
Operate shuttle vehicles on COTA property and designated routes while adhering to established schedules.</li><li>
Provide friendly, professional, and courteous customer service to all passengers.</li><li>
Answer guest questions clearly and politely, providing directions and general event information when needed.</li><li>
Assist passengers with boarding and exiting vehicles, including providing assistance to disabled or mobility-impaired passengers.</li><li>
Be vigilant in ensuring safe passenger behavior (no standing on trailers, no boarding or exiting while trailer&rsquo;s in motion, no arms or legs outside of the trailer) &ndash; Ability to communicate effectively with those not abiding by the rules, politely enforcing rules when needed.</li><li>
Safely operate multiple types of vehicles, including shuttle buses, minibuses, passenger vans, and pickup trucks towing passenger trailers (including Featherlite trailers and safari trams).</li><li>
Demonstrate proficiency in towing practices, including maneuvering, backing, braking, turning, and navigating crowded event environments.</li><li>
Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensure vehicle and trailer readiness, maintain cleanliness, and report mechanical or safety issues.</li><li>
Obey all traffic laws, safety regulations, and COTA operational procedures.</li><li>
Inspect and maintain required emergency equipment, supervise safe loading/unloading, and ensure compliance with passenger safety standards.</li><li>
Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and event operations teams.</li><li>
Clock in/out accurately, maintain records, and consistently represent COTA with professionalism, integrity, and accountability.</li></ul>
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:<ul><li>
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse audiences.</li><li>
Demonstrated ability to safely operate pickup trucks towing passenger trailers, including knowledge of safe towing practices.</li><li>
Working knowledge of passenger safety standards, emergency procedures, and vehicle operation protocols.</li><li>
Clear and effective verbal communication skills, including use of two-way radio systems.</li><li>
Strong situational awareness and ability to remain calm under pressure in high-volume event settings.</li><li>
Dependable, punctual, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious.</li><li>
Flexible and adaptable to changing schedules, routes, and event demands.</li><li>
Ability to read maps and navigate large venues efficiently.</li></ul>
Required Qualifications:<ul><li>
Valid Texas driver&rsquo;s license with a clean driving record.</li><li>
Safe driving record verified by Texas Department of Public Safety (meets and maintains liability coverage eligibility)</li><li>
Demonstrated ability or prior experience operating pickup trucks towing passenger trailers carrying passengers.</li><li>
Ability to pass required background checks, motor vehicle record reviews, and drug/alcohol testing as required.</li><li>
Prior experience driving shuttles, buses, trailers, or similar vehicles preferred.</li><li>
Experience working large-scale events or high-volume guest environments is a plus.</li><li>
Strong verbal communication skills.</li><li>
Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and irregular hours based on event schedules.</li></ul>

Repetitive bending, twisting, reaching, grasping, and lifting as needed during passenger boarding and vehicle maintenance.</li><li>
Emotional and mental resilience required to remain calm under stressful, fast-paced, and dynamic event conditions.</li></ul>
