Job Description 
Under general supervision performs skilled electrical work in connection with the installation, maintenance, repair and alteration of electrical systems under 600 volts, machinery and equipment; may exercise work direction over craftsmen involved in such work; and performs related duties as required.
Requires responsibility for: print reading, installing, maintaining, testing and repairing electrical equipment; inspecting and repairing generating equipment; cutting, bending and installing rigid conduit, electrical metallic tubing (EMT) and pulling conductors; setting up and using ladders, staging, aerial lift trucks and light towers, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE). May involve work with high voltage (277 Volt - 480 Volt) equipment and installation, maintenance, testing and repair of traffic signal equipment. Nature of work involves physical effort and dexterity in the use of fingers, limbs and body; exposure to hazardous environments where injuries may be encountered.
MAJOR, IMPORTANT, AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
According to Civil Service Commission Rule 109, the duties specified below are representative of the range of duties assigned to this job code/class and are not intended to be an inclusive list.
1. Installs, maintains, tests and repairs electrical distribution systems and devices such as lighting, power circuits, fixtures, transformers, programmable logical controls (PLC), Direct Digital Controls (DDC), motors, motor controls, process controls, auxiliary lighting systems, life safety systems, electronic controls, relays, regulators, branch circuit breakers, main distribution circuit breakers, irrigation control systems, and other related electrical equipment which may be in confined spaces.
2. Inspects and repairs generating equipment and UPS (uninterrupted power supply) and its auxiliary accessories.
3. Cuts, bends and installs rigid conduit, electrical metallic tubing (EMT) and pulls current carrying conductors.
4. Erects and uses ladders, scaffolds, manlifts, staging, aerial lift trucks and light towers.
5. Communicates via two-way radios and telephones.
6. May install, maintain, test and repair traffic signal equipment.
7. Prepares and submits reports for time, and material used reports on work accomplished.
8. Inspects, tests and repairs emergency generator transfer switches and automatic dispatch lighting systems.
IMPORTANT AND ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of: various types of electrical equipment and methods of installation and of the tools, materials and equipment necessary to the maintenance and repair of such installations; of electrical codes in the National Electrical Code, San Francisco Electrical Code, local codes, General Order 95 and California state electrical safety orders; of existing safety codes, ordinances and regulations.
Ability and Skill to: read drawings, ladder diagrams, schematics, sketches and blueprints; inspect equipment, perform routine maintenance and identify, correct and report electrical problems; oral and written communication skills; mathematical skills to do simple arithmetic computations and basic algebra. Requires considerable skill in the use and handling of electrical equipment and tools used in the electrical trade. 
Qualifications 
Education: Completion of a recognized Apprenticeship program (Inside Wireman Apprenticeship).
Experience: One (1) year of journey level electrician experience.
License and Certification: Possession of a valid California (Class C) driver license.
Substitution:
Additional experience as a journey level electrician may be substituted for the required electrician apprenticeship on a year-for-year basis.
Six years of inside wireman experience equivalent to journey-level as defined by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers may be substituted for the required experience.

Qualifications 
Qualifications:

Education: Possession of a Master's Degree in Library and Information Sciences (e.g. MLS/MLIS) from a college, university, or program accredited by the American Library Association.
Experience: Four (4) years of experience as a professional librarian, including at least two (2) years supervising other professional librarians.

Management Test Battery (MTB) - Weight: 40% &ndash; Qualifying candidates will be invited to participate in an in-person computer-based examination designed to measure competencies in job-related areas which may include but not be limited to: Problem Solving; Leadership; Decision Making; Interpersonal skill; Human Resources Management; Team Building; Communication; Conflict Management and Process Improvement. A passing score must be achieved on the MTB to continue to the next step in the selection process.
This is a standardized examination and, therefore, test questions and test answers are not available for public inspection or review.
Behavioral Consistency Questionnaire (BCQ) &ndash; Weight: 60% Candidates that pass the MTB exam will be required to complete a BCQ which will be sent by email. The BCQ is designed to measure the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities in job-related areas. Knowledge of: Modern library methods, procedures and techniques; library materials; knowledge of the role of the public library in the community.
Ability and Skill to: Work courteously and effectively with library patrons and outside organizations; evaluate a wide variety of library materials; educate, advise, and instruct others in the use of library materials and facilities; plan library programs and book selection to meet the needs of the community; speak and write effectively; prepare reports; and the ability to organize, supervise, coordinate and delegate.
BANKED SCORES: Scores attained on the MTB exam will be valid and 'banked' for three years, starting from the date of the examination. This means that, during this three-year time period, you will not be required to take the MTB. The MTB may be used for many other classes; therefore, your test score may be applied to one or more of these classes if you choose to apply to future recruitments. If the selection process for the future announcement is held within one year of the date of this examination and it includes the MTB, your score will be automatically applied to that announcement. However, after one year, you have the option to either (a) apply your test score to the other announcement or (b) re-take the MTB. Re-testing is permitted no sooner than one year from the date of the examination and only in association with your eligibility for another announcement for which the MTB is used. Please note that, should you re-test, your re-test score would become your official score since it is the most recent.
Passing scores must be achieved to be placed on the eligible list/score report. The hiring department may administer additional position-specific selection procedures to make final hiring decisions.

Eligible List/Score Report 
A confidential eligible list of applicant names that have passed the civil service examination process will be created and used for certification purposes only. However, an eligible list shall be made available for public inspection, upon request, once the eligible list is exhausted or expired and referrals resolved. Under direction, the Senior People Science Analyst performs professional work in analyzing, researching, and consulting functions related to competency modeling, employee engagement, people analytics, talent management consulting, workforce planning, and racial equity.
Essential Functions:
The essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:<ul><li>
Provide strategic research and best practice-based consultation to business leaders related to talent management strategies, organizational effectiveness initiatives, and human resources policies and practices.</li><li>

Qualifications 
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience:
Three (3) years of verifiable professional human resources experience, similar to 1241 Human Resources Analyst, in one or more of the following areas of activity: recruitment and selection; classification and compensation; employee and/or labor relations; benefits administration; human resources operations; diversity, equity, and inclusion; and personnel training.
Substitution:
Education Substitution - Additional qualifying work experience as a professional human resources analyst may be substituted for up to two years of the required education on a year-for-year basis (30 semester/ 45 quarter units equals one year).
Experience Substitution - Completion of a 12-month human resources trainee program equivalent to the City and County of San Francisco's 1249 Human Resources Training Program may substitute for one (1) year of required professional experience.
Experience Substitution - Possession of a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) or Master's degree in Personnel Administration, Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Public Administration or Clinical/School/Industrial-Organizational Psychology may substitute for one (1) year of the required professional experience. MQs must reflect the class specification for those classes with set MQs.
