<div><p>The City of Apple Valley, MN, is seeking an enthusiastic Video Content Creator Intern for Summer 2026. This full-time internship (40 hours/week for at least 12 weeks) provides hands-on experience in digital media and communications, serving the cities of Apple Valley, Farmington, and Rosemount. Flexible start and end dates are available.</p></div>
<div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</b></h2></div>
<div><p><b>Video Production</b>: Create high-quality, engaging videos on city-related topics, with a focus on vertical.<br>
<b>Collaboration:</b> Work with city staff across departments to develop ideas and produce content.<br>
<b>Support &amp; Assistance: </b>Help with various communications projects as needed.<br>
<b>Other Tasks</b>: Perform additional duties as assigned by the Video Operations Coordinator.</p></div>
<div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>QUALIFICATIONS</b></h2></div>
<div><p><b>Education:</b> Enrolled in or recently graduated (within one year) from a digital media, video production or communications-related college program.<br>
<b>Technical Skills</b>: Experience with video content creation, including techniques and terminology.<br>
<b>Video Editing Experience: </b>(e.g., Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, or similar).<br>
<b>Camera Experience: (</b>e.g. DSLR/Mirrorless, POV, phone).<br>
<b>Equipment Use:</b> Proficiency with cameras, accessories and ability to carry at least 20lbs. of equipment.<br>
<b>Work Ethic: </b>Ability to work independently, and as part of a team, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.<br>
<b>Communication: </b>Strong interaction skills with staff and the public.<br>
<b>Writing Skills: </b>Proficient in grammar, spelling, and sentence structure.<br>
<b>Transportation: </b>Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to travel among member cities (mileage reimbursed).<br>
<b>Bonus: </b>On-camera presence is welcomed but not required.<br>

PREFERRED Qualifications:<br>
<b>Familiarity with Vertical Video Platforms: (</b>Meta's Reels, YouTube Shorts, TikTok, etc.).<br>
<b>Graphic Design &amp; Social Media: </b>Ability to create graphics &amp; understanding of social media.<br>
<b>Portfolio: </b>Include a resume that include links to produced/created/edited videos.<br>
<b>Technical Proficiency: </b>Experience with MS365, Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android.</p></div>

<div><p>Expected working hours will be 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., M-F, any time outside of those hours (limited) will be flexed with that week's 40 hours.</p></div></div></div>
