General Description and Classification Standards 
The Senior Attorney IV role will handle a variety of real estate transactions and related matters, including drafting and reviewing legislation and complex real estate documents as well as providing advice and counsel to various departments and boards as assigned. Experience with real estate development agreements, purchase and sale agreements, leases, easements and real estate closings is required. The Senior Attorney IV will have extensive contact with City Council, multiple city departments, and the governing bodies of several other municipalities. Applicants should have excellent interpersonal skills, experience working with paralegals and administrative staff, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Applicants should also demonstrate superior organizational, client management, writing, and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is also required. 
Minimum Qualifications 
Education and Experience: Juris Doctorate degree required from an accredited law school. At least ten (10) years of experience as a practicing attorney. Must be a member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia or have the ability to obtain membership within one (1) year of employment. 
Preferred Qualifications 
Experience in municipal, county, and/or constitutional law. 
Familiarity with affordable housing-related real estate transactions is a plus.</div> <div></div>

Senior Attorney IV- Real Estate

General Description and Classification Standards 
The ideal candidate should have at least ten (10) years of litigation experience in general civil and/or employment litigation in state and federal courts, including appellate work. The ideal candidate should have substantial first and/or second chair trial experience and experience working with Assistant and Associate Attorneys. The applicant should also be capable of handling all stages of litigation including discovery, depositions and alternative dispute resolution. Applicants must have experience managing paralegals and/or administrative staff. Experience drafting legislation is a plus. The Senior Attorney IV in this position, will report directly to the Deputy City Attorney for Litigation, and will have extensive contact with Atlanta City Council, multiple City Departments, and the governing bodies of several other municipalities. 
Applicants must possess strong written and oral communication skills, analytical skills, sound judgment, professionalism, and the interpersonal skills necessary to contribute to a litigation team handling complex legal matters in a fast-paced environment. 
Minimum Qualifications
