PRIMARY DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES</div><div></div><div>
Hiring Salary: $21.31 - $26.64/Hour</div><div><div><i>

PRIMARY DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES</div><ul><li>
Types a variety of legal documents, including correspondence, memoranda, legal pleadings, briefs, forms, motions, and reports</li><li>
Performs data entry on a Linux Environment/Computer System</li><li>
Gathers data and creates statistical reports</li><li>
Initiates, develops, maintains, and closes legal case filings</li><li>
Utilizes Colorado Bureau of Investigations software (NCIC/CCIC &amp; DMV searches)</li><li>
Orders and obtains various legal case related documents for Attorneys</li><li>
Processes legal case paperwork from incarcerated defendants, warrants, State Motor Vehicle, CCIC/NCIC, process servers, and court personnel</li><li>
Files legal documents and correspondence</li><li>
Communicates by telephone, Microsoft teams or e-mail with Defense Attorneys, the public, court/law enforcement personnel, other agencies, and officials</li><li>
Prepares and processes dockets, witness lists, personal service, and subpoenas</li><li>
Requests police body worn cameras, various forms of digital evidence, and police property for case preparation</li><li>
Prepares and/or cancels WRITS for in custody Defendant transports and requests interpreter services for future court settings</li><li>
Maintains legal library and electronic records</li><li>
Works with electronic case management and e-discovery systems</li><li>
Performs additional duties as assigned</li></ul><div></div><div>

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS &amp; WORKING CONDITIONS</div><div></div><div>
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.</div><div></div><div>
Education:</div><ul><li>
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)</li></ul><div></div><div>
Experience:</div><ul><li>
At least three (3) years of related technical and administrative support experience.</li><li>
Experience in a legal office preferred.</li></ul><div></div><div>
Knowledge:</div><ul><li>
General office procedures.</li><li>
Legal terminology.</li><li>
Legal forms.</li><li>
Personal computers, including related word processing software applications.</li></ul><div></div><div><br>
Skills:</div><ul><li>
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.</li><li>
Typing at a minimum rate of 50 net words per minute.</li><li>
The use of personal computers, including related word processing software</li><li>
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and MS Office Windows 11.</li></ul><div></div><div>
Abilities:</div><ul><li>
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with Attorneys, court personnel, employees, citizens, and elected officials.</li><li>
Multi-tasking ability to effectively manage multiple projects with deadlines.</li><li>

WORKING CONDITIONS</div><div>
Essential Personnel:</div><ul><li>
When a local announcement of emergency or disaster is declared by the city, all City of Aurora employees may be required to work as essential personnel.</li></ul><div>
Physical Demands:</div><ul><li>
Light physical work lifting 20 pounds at a time, with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds with or without assistance.</li><li>
Occasional walking and standing.</li><li>
Frequent hand/eye coordination to operate the computer keyboard and office equipment.</li><li>
Vision sufficient to read computer screens, reports, and related department documents.</li><li>
Dexterity to operate computer keyboards and other related office equipment.</li><li>
Endurance sufficient to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time.</li><li>
Frequent speech communication and hearing to maintain communication with employees and citizens.</li></ul><div></div><div>
Work Environment:</div><ul><li>
Works primarily in a clean, comfortable office environment.</li></ul><div>
