PRIMARY DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES</div><div></div><div>

This is classified as a VHBE (Variable Hour Benefit Eligible) part-time position, where the selected candidate will work up to 40 hours per week. The selected candidate will be eligible to elect </i><i>Medical, Dental,</i><i> and Vision Benefits as well as accrue paid time off and receive 11 paid holidays.</i></div><div></div><div>
The Court Clerk II performs independent, court specific, clerical/technical work in accordance with the procedures and policies of the courts including preparation, dissemination of legal documents, managing court files, heavy public contact with defendants, stakeholders, and the general public as it relates to judicial processes and procedures. The Court Clerk II performs customer service in person, or by telephone in accordance with rules of procedure, state statutes and city ordinances to support the operations of the Court Services division in the Municipal Court. This position reports to the Court Services&rsquo; Supervisors.</div><div></div><div>
PRIMARY DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES</div><div></div><ul><li><div>
Provides excellent customer service and general information concerning the court to the public. May include interaction with Prosecution, Defendants, Witnesses, Jurors, and Defense Counsel</div></li><li><div>
Maintains court record-keeping systems and data integrity that includes heavy data entry input, updating and filing of records and documents</div></li><li><div>
Processes incoming juvenile and adult municipal and traffic filings, including new violations</div></li><li><div>
Schedules upcoming court hearings in accordance with the court&rsquo;s policies and procedures</div></li><li><div>
Reviews and evaluates legal documents, forms, applications, and other information to determine accuracy, completeness, acceptability, or compliance to judicial rules, city ordinances, policies, and procedures</div></li><li><div>
Provides heavy customer assistance including answering questions by phone and in person, directing inquiries to appropriate departments, and operates a variety of office equipment and personal computers</div></li><li><div>
Explains and provides general information on judicial processes and procedures to court personnel, attorneys, law enforcement agencies, and the general public by phone and in person</div></li><li><div>
Receives, processes, and deposits a heavy volume of fines, fees, and related court/filing payments</div></li><li><div>
Balances daily cash drawer, prepares daily closeout for register and completes all required reports related to receipting of fines, costs and payments received</div></li><li><div>
Confirms all judicial orders are entered including warrant cancellations and Personal Recognizance bonds. Fines, costs, restitution amounts are verified for accuracy</div></li><li><div>
Files are closed in accordance with Case Management procedures and Judicial orders</div></li><li><div>
Answers multi-line phone system; screens calls, answers questions, and refers callers to appropriate personnel as necessary</div></li><li><div>
Written and oral communication with area agencies, the municipal judge, prosecuting attorney, court-appointed counsel, and various legal professionals</div></li><li><div>
Written and oral communication with clients and the public</div></li><li><div>
Utilizes document imaging for case files</div></li><li><div>
May handle CJIS related information</div></li><li><div>

At least two (2) years of clerical and filing experience including dealing with the public and handling telephone calls</div></li><li><div>
At least two (2) years of heavy cash handling experience</div></li><li><div>
Court or law enforcement background preferred</div></li></ul><div></div><div>
