<p></p><div><p>The public safety dispatcher receives, and dispatches emergency and non-emergency calls for a variety of municipal services. This is an entry level position in which emphasis is placed on training the incumbent for continued advancement through the Public Safety Dispatcher classification series. Work is performed under the general supervision of the public safety dispatcher supervisor.</p></div><p></p>

Operates computer-aided dispatch (CAD) equipment and performs CAD functions</li><li>
Receives and transmits messages by radio and maintains radio logs</li><li>
Operates computer terminals for various federal, state and local networks</li><li>
Provides pre-arrival police, fire and medical instructions when needed</li><li>

<div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Minimum and Preferred Qualifications</b></h2></div>
<div><p><b>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</b></p><br>
<ul><li>
High school diploma or equivalent is required.</li><li>
Must obtain a score of 70% or higher on the CritiCall Test.</li><li>
Possess or have the ability to obtain CJIS (NCIC/FCIC) certification within the first three (3) months of employment,</li><li>
Possess or have the ability to obtain certifications in the emergency police, fire and medical disciplines within one (1) year of employment and must meet or exceed minimum quality assurance ratings in each discipline.</li><li>
Possession of a valid State of Florida Class &ldquo;E&rdquo; driver&rsquo;s license is required.</li><li>
Knowledge Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook preferred.</li><li>
The public safety dispatcher must be available for shift work in a 24-hour-a-day, seven-days-a-week work environment.</li></ul><br>
<b>
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</b>:<br>
<ul><li>
9-1-1, TDD, and Florida Department of Health 911 Public Safety Telecommunicator (FSS 401.465) certifications are preferred. Certifications must be obtained prior to the end of the one-year probationary period.</li><li>
One (1) year experience working in a 911 communications environment is preferred.</li></ul><br>

<p></p><div><div>Performs intermediate semi-skilled work in the maintenance of municipal parks and grounds, including general park areas, roadway medians and swales, golf greens, fairways, tees, bunkers and rough, and clay/turf athletic fields and clay tennis courts. Installs, repairs, maintains and cares for parks, grounds and related structures and equipment; does related work as required. Work is performed under regular supervision.</div></div><p></p>
<div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Essential Functions</b></h2></div>
<p></p><div><ul><li>Works as a member of a crew engaged in the maintenance, repair, and improvement of parks, grounds, clay tennis courts, or general park areas.</li><li>
Repairs and maintains park areas and buildings; performs minor building, custodial, repair, and maintenance work.</li><li>
Completes safety inspections on playground equipment, boardwalks, docks, restrooms, park amenities, etc.</li><li>
Collects trash, debris and garbage and disposes of same; repairs grills, tables, trash receptacles, benches, gates and fences; replaces light bulbs.</li><li>
Participates in the propagation, planting, and transplanting of appropriate trees, shrubs, sod and flowers.</li><li>
Trims hedges; prunes trees, plants, and flowers; mows grass, pulls weeds and edges.</li><li>
Performs plant maintenance and care tasks; rakes leaves and spreads mulch; waters plants.</li><li>
Lays sod, applies grass seed, fertilizer, insecticides, pesticides, and herbicides; follows the guidelines and requirements set forth by the state, county and city rules and regulations.</li><li>
Mows, edges, blows, waters; weeds, aerates and fertilizes parks and grounds, athletic field turf, general park areas, removes weeds from parks and grounds, including turf, landscape beds, tree rings and picnic areas.</li><li>
Maintains tennis courts, installs posts, net supports and nets.</li><li>
Operates and performs preventive maintenance and general repair of maintenance groundskeeping equipment, including mowers, chain saws, tractors, front-end loaders, trenchers, aerators, top dressers, dump trucks, small power equipment and similar equipment.</li><li>
Maintain parks and grounds by mowing, edging, watering, and fertilizing parks, fields, golf courses, tennis courts, and green spaces.</li><li>
Perform repairs and upkeep by fixing minor issues with park buildings, equipment, and facilities, including grills, tables, benches, and light fixtures.</li><li>
Manage waste by collecting trash and litter while ensuring waste bins are clean and emptied.</li><li>
Care for landscaping by planting, mulching, trimming, and maintaining trees, shrubs, and flowers.</li><li>
Operate and maintain equipment by safely using and servicing groundskeeping tools such as mowers, tractors, and chainsaws.</li><li>
Collaborate with the team by assisting with tasks, projects, and special events to enhance park aesthetics, functionality, and safety.</li><li>
Conduct safety inspections by regularly assessing playgrounds, boardwalks, docks, and other park areas for potential hazards.</li><li>
Control weeds and turf by removing weeds and applying fertilizers and pesticides to maintain healthy turf.</li><li>
Install and treat grass by laying sod, applying grass seed, and using fertilizers, insecticides, pesticides, and herbicides in compliance with state, county, and city regulations.</li></ul><p>

Inspects for safety issues and maintenance needs, completing the necessary inspection forms and paperwork.</li><li>
Assists with pipe repairs, fixes sprinkler heads, helps with some irrigation repairs, and cleans tools and equipment.</li><li>
