Salary Structure</b><ul><li>
Lateral entry available <i>(restrictions apply).</i></li><li>
Firefighter/Paramedic salary range: $76,920 - $96,677/yr + FLSA and Cert Pay</li><li>
Recruit: $69,707 - $74,679/yr</li><li>
Additional pay available for advanced certifications and education!</li><li>
TMRS Retirement Plan (Employee contributes 7% pre-tax, City provides 2 to 1 matching, vesting after 5 years, with option of retirement, at any age, with 20 years of service).</li><li>

<p></p><div><ul><li>Ability to perform firefighting and fire prevention activities in protecting life and property.</li><li>
Successfully maintain and operate firefighting apparatus and equipment.</li><li>
Provide medical assistance and Advanced Life Support first responder pre-hospital emergency medical care and assistance to victims.</li><li>
Perform minor station maintenance.</li><li>
Participate in a variety of training to maintain skills.</li></ul><div><b><br>

Candidates must be at least 19 years of age.<br>

Candidates must possess a valid driver's license. Candidates that do not possess a Class B Texas license must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Class B license.<br>

To be eligible for this application process, candidates must meet one of the following certification requirements:<ul><li>
TCFP Certified Firefighter with Texas Department of Health Services EMT certification<br>
<b>OR</b></li><li>
TCFP Certified Firefighter with Texas Department of Health Services Paramedic certification<br>
<b>OR</b></li><li>
Texas Department of Health Services Paramedic Certification or National Registry Paramedic Certification<br>
<b>OR</b></li>
Be currently enrolled in a national registry paramedic program.<br>

Texas Commission on Fire Protection Certification preferred but not required. Candidates not currently certified will be sent to the Fire Academy.<br>

Out of State Candidates may be considered, if Paramedic Certified, and the state in which they are currently certified offers reciprocity with Texas.</b><br>
