CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CLASS</b></p><p>
Under direction, functions as the security officer in charge of an airport security or surveillance unit during an assigned tour of duty; and performs related duties as required</p><p><b>
ESSENTIAL DUTIES</b></p><ul><li>
Coordinates and schedules the deployment of Aviation Surveillance Specialists to ensure maximum coverage of Security Operations Center.</li><li>
Assign aviation security personnel to cover emergency situations and special events.</li><li>
Make daily work assignments and ensure proper staff coverage.</li><li>
Updates and briefs staff at start of shift on previous shift's reported incidents, upcoming airport activities, and other relevant security activities.</li><li>
Issues general security instructions to airlines and airport tenants and work with the Chicago Police Department in coordinating special security matters.</li><li>
Aid in response to disturbances on airport grounds and crowd and traffic control in terminal areas, as required.</li><li>
Oversee the preparation of and completes staff performance appraisals.</li><li>
Tracks and approves video requests for airport partners.</li><li>
Monitors and tracks Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.</li><li>
Works with CDA Legal, Management Labor Affairs and Inspector General on various investigations.</li><li>
Monitors and tracks Law Enforcement investigative video requests.</li><li>
Monitors Social Media feeds for potential disruptions to airport operations.</li><li>
Oversee Transportations Security Administration (TSA) security checks.</li><li>
Makes recommendations for discipline and implement corrective or disciplinary actions.</li><li>
Monitors and tracks drone flights and drone detection equipment.</li><li>
Attends departmental meetings and serves as liaison with law enforcement agencies.</li><li>
Reviews and approves submitted incident reports and prepares comprehensive reports on security operations.</li><li>
Updates and maintains statistical and narrative reports documenting administrative activities.</li><li>
Administers first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and uses Automated External Defibrillator (AED) equipment, as required.</li><li>

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:</b></p><ul><li> Posts transactions involving cash receipts, disbursements, and/or accounts payable and accounts receivable to ledgers.</li><li> Posts journal entries and verifies the availability of funds.</li><li> Reviews program contracts, budgets and budget amendments, and revisions for conformance to federal, state, and local government accounting requirements.</li><li> Prepares trial balances or periodic summary statements to verify the equality of debits and credits or to determine account balances.</li><li> Audits vouchers submitted for reimbursement by examining contracts, budgets, balance sheets and other documents to determine if costs are allowable.</li><li> Verifies computations on voucher extensions and waivers to contract provisions.</li><li> Interprets contract provisions in order to identify allowable and non-allowable expenditures.</li><li> Calculates totals and determines the appropriateness of supporting documentation.</li><li> Resolves problems regarding budget limitations, allocations, or modifications and prepares necessary documentation.</li><li> Provides technical assistance on the preparation of documents for reimbursement to contractors, subcontractors or other agencies.</li><li> Maintains control ledgers, prepares routine financial reports and approves vouchers for payment.</li><li> May assist in preparing departmental program and operating budgets.</li></ul><div></div><div><i><br>

Two (2) years of paraprofessional accounting or auditing experience.</p><p>
Should the above criteria not be fulfilled, the following options are acceptable:</p><ul><li> Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate&rsquo;s degree or higher in Accounting.</li><li> Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate&rsquo;s degree or higher, plus 15 semester hours in Accounting.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><br>
