Investigate potential code violations by identifying and responding to complaints; make inspections of residential, business, commercial, and public property; issue instructions for correction of the problem; maintain logs and records related to the inspections and enforcement activity; consult with prosecutors and prepare case reports for court action; and testify in court.</div></div><div><div>
Work with Legal, Planning, Building, Health and Public Works departments in providing assistance as needed for resolving other city code violations.</div></div><p>
</p><div><div><b>Parking &amp; Vehicle Enforcemen</b>t</div></div><div><div>
Investigate parking, abandoned vehicles, found property and complaints.</div></div><div><div>
Investigate parking violations, issue parking violation citations, process vehicles and arrange towing of vehicles for parking or abandoned vehicle violations.</div></div><div><div>
Assist with police impound activities, including the receipt, inventory, and release of impounded vehicles.</div></div><div><div>
Prepare reports, and documents related to vehicle towing, recovered property and other incidents.</div></div><p>
</p><div><div><b>Animal Control</b></div></div><div><div>
Enforce city codes dealing with animals; capture and impound stray animals.</div></div><p>
</p><div><div><b>Public Service &amp; Support</b></div></div><div><div>
Direct traffic; transport department vehicles for maintenance; transport items for mailing or shipping.</div></div><div><div>
Assist officers at criminal and traffic calls for services; place vehicles in and release vehicles from the Department's impound lot.</div></div><div><div>
Take minor criminal and non-criminal complaints and prepare reports as directed.</div></div><div><div>
Provide general assistance to motorists and citizens; conduct traffic surveys.</div></div><div><div>
Make local purchases of items for the department; wait on citizens at the service counter or telephone.</div></div><div><div>
