Job OverviewThe City of Hialeah is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Social Media Coordinator. This position is responsible for managing the City&rsquo;s official social media accounts and producing content that communicates the Mayor&rsquo;s initiatives, city updates, and community information in a clear and engaging way. The role requires strong editing skills, an eye for visuals, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.ResponsibilitiesThe Social Media Coordinator will develop, create, and publish daily content across all major social media platforms, including short-form videos, photos, and written posts. The position requires capturing content at public events, managing posting schedules, preparing captions and storylines, and tracking engagement metrics. The role includes supporting the Chief Communications Officer with digital strategy, maintaining consistent messaging and branding, coordinating with internal departments for updates or announcements, and responding appropriately to online engagement. The Coordinator must be prepared to handle time-sensitive or high-volume posting needs and maintain accuracy and professionalism at all times. Evening and weekend work may be required.SkillsApplicants must be proficient in social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), TikTok, and YouTube. Strong writing, photography, and video editing skills are essential. The position requires creativity, attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under time pressure. Experience with editing software such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, Canva, or similar tools is preferred. The role requires professionalism, good judgment, and the ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish.
