Position Summary 
The Collector plays a critical role in ensuring timely and accurate reimbursement for professional services rendered. This position is responsible for managing a portfolio of accounts, resolving straightforward and complex claims, and driving accounts to resolution. Working with minimal supervision, the Collector collaborates within a team environment to support the Division&rsquo;s mission and financial goals while maintaining the highest level of integrity and accuracy.
As a successful candidate, you will:<ul><li>
Follow up on assigned accounts within billing and accounts receivable systems to meet established performance goals</li><li>
Proactively resolve accounts through written and verbal communication, including first- and second-level appeals</li><li>
Verify and ensure all conditions for payment are met, including charges, insurance eligibility, and benefit coverage</li><li>
Review and validate financial classifications, authorizations, and certifications</li><li>
Confirm accuracy of CPT and ICD coding, as applicable</li><li>
Respond promptly and accurately to inquiries from payers, patients, and authorized representatives</li><li>
Identify and report trends in correspondence to management for further action</li><li>
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather necessary information efficiently</li><li>
Communicate with patients as needed to support account resolution</li><li>
Recommend and implement solutions to resolve outstanding patient accounts</li></ul></div><div>
Your qualifications should include:
<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li><li>
Minimum three (3) to five (5) years experience performing medical functions.</li><li>
Minimum experience including corresponding with patients and insurance companies in resolving patient accounts.</li><li>
Extensive knowledge of insurance carrier procedures.</li><li>
Experience with reading Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements. Proven ability to handle multiple conflicting tasks.</li></ul>

As a Financial Analyst, you will perform a dynamic mix of responsibilities, including assisting with the production, reconciliation, and review of provider dashboards, monthly operational financials, KPI reports and provider compensation incentive plans . Additionally you will be expected to handle financial and operational ad-hoc modeling and analyses providing actionable insights that support decision-making and play a vital role in the organization&rsquo;s financial strategy and planning. This role will also support our Physicians Services Agreement and journal entry support.
Advanced Excel skills are essential for this role. You should be comfortable working with multivariable imbedded IF statements, SumIfs, CountIfs, Xlookups, slicers, and sparklines as well as utilizing pivot tables and advance excel based charting and visualizations, including PowerPoint presentation development. Strong written and verbal communication skills are also required to effectively present your findings and collaborate with others.
Success in this role will depend on your ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
As a successful candidate, you will:<ul><li>
Assist in the development and implementation of operating budgets for City of Hope Medical Foundation. Components of the budgeting process include planning, budget assumption development and coordinating senior management review.</li><li>
Conduct budget variance analyses and evaluate revenue and cost efficiencies in various areas of the organization.</li><li>
Support month-end closing analyses, prepares financial statements and productivity reports and monitors Medical Foundation&rsquo;s capital/project spending.</li><li>
Develop financial and operational business review executive packages for Executive Committees, City of Hope Medical Group Board and City of Hope Parent Board.</li><li>
Conduct financial analyses and synthesize available information to provide decision support to Senior Leadership</li><li>
Perform financial reviews and analyses in partnership with internal departments and external advisors.</li><li>
Develop, maintain and distribute ad-hoc reports and financial models as needed.</li><li>
Assist in implementation of City of Hope Medical Group physician incentive compensation model.</li><li>
Conduct physician incentive compensation and productivity analyses for City of Hope Medical Foundation and City of Hope Medical Group.</li><li>
Develop physician financial and operational performance reports and presents the findings to City of Hope Medical Foundation and City of Hope Medical Group.</li><li>
Develop business case model and benchmarking tools to be used in evaluating the existing and the addition of prospective physicians.</li><li>
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to structure and execute key strategic initiatives.</li></ul></div><div>
Your qualifications should include:<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics. Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements</li><li>
Two (2) to three (3) years of financial analytical experience (in a healthcare setting preferred), preferable with a large multi-specialty physician group or medical foundation.</li></ul>

Financial Analyst - Foundation (Budgeting & Financial Reporting)

Work collaboratively with physicians, Clinical Research Associates (CRA) and pharmacists to coordinate care for an assigned population of patients who are enrolled in to IRB clinical research trials. You will assist in the assessment, management and coordination of care across the continuum of care (outpatient, inpatient and home) including triage of phone calls and proactive patient communication. You will educate patients and families on the clinical trial treatments and required testing.
As a successful candidate, you will:<ul><li>
Collaborate with the investigator to ascertain study patient eligibility for clinical trial, including documentation of criteria specified in the clinical trial.</li><li>
Assess, identify and prioritize clinical information to physician, NP, PA and other clinicians for patients who are being evaluated or who are enrolled in to IRB clinical trials.</li><li>
Assess and document signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to treatment, changes in physical or psychological condition and general appearance in accordance with the IRB protocol assuring that the documentation is complete and accurate in order to avoid protocol deviations.</li><li>
Manage patient/family phone calls &ndash; collaborating with MD, NP and/or PA as needed to obtain orders for the management of the patient.</li><li>
Ensure the consent process is performed in compliance with institutional, FDA, IRB, clinical trial sponsor and other applicable regulations.</li></ul></div><div>
Your qualifications should include:<ul><li>
BSN</li><li>
2 or more years of experience in oncology. clinical research, research, ICU, other intensive care setting, pediatrics, case management or nurse navigation.</li><li>
Human subjects protection training (can be completed after hire)</li></ul>
Required Certification/Licensure:<ul><li>
Current California RN License</li><li>
American Heart Association BLS Certification</li></ul>
