JOB SUMMARY:The Municipal Court Clerk provides support services to the municipal court including scheduling court dockets, maintaining records of the court process, and coordinating assigned activities with the general public.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Essential duties and functions may include the following. Must possess required knowledge skills, abilities and experience and to be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations that the essential functions of the job can be performed.&middot; Provides a remarkable customer service experience to citizens, internal and external customers by responding to requests in a positive, timely, effective, and professional manner.&middot; Assist the public at the counter or by the phone to provide information about the procedures and requirements of the disposition of cases filed in the municipal court, payment of fines, court settings, time payments, deferred disposition, and driver safety courses.&middot; Balance cash drawer daily and process all required reports.&middot; Perform data entry for court records; entry of citations, payments, dispositions to update status of cases, applying and forfeiting cash bonds, applying credit for time served.&middot; Prepare letters, notices and correspondences for incoming mail, new citations entered, deferred disposition, driving safety courses, juvenile hearings, and juror summons.&middot; Prepare court dockets for preliminary hearings and trials.&middot; Maintains trial dockets by preparing dockets, notifying defendants, attorneys, officers, complainants, and witnesses, preparing and mailing subpoenas, selecting names of prospective jurors, preparing summons and assisting the prosecutor where needed.&middot; Attend court sessions on scheduled court dates to provide assistance to the judge, prosecutor, attending attorneys and defendants.&middot; Update status on warrants and prepare warrants for delinquent citations.&middot; Maintain confidentiality with regards to all court files.&middot; Keep the Judge informed of all problems and important issues.&middot; Performs all other related duties as assigned.The above duties ARE NOT intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties by all employees in the classification, only a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities.Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hourExpected hours: 80 per weekWork Location: In person
