 The Information Security Analyst supports day-to-day security operations by monitoring alerts, investigating potential threats, and helping protect systems, networks, and data. This role will support many functions of the Information Security Program which include, access provisioning, log analysis for fraud mitigation, security accreditations of new products and services, vulnerability reviews and follow up remediation of vulnerabilities associated to our new pension platform, reviews of indicators or compromise to be applied to NYCERS security controls for awareness, monitoring and incident response of our SIEM and security tools for suspicious activity, triage alerts and escalate incidents to senior analysts, support phishing analysis and malware investigations, support phishing simulations and user awareness campaigns, assist with security reports and dashboards, help update playbooks, policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines, participate in basic risk assessments, and promote security best practices, across the agency.

 Minimum Qualifications
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 A baccalaureate degree, from an accredited college including or supplemented by twenty-four (24) semester credits in cyber security, network security, computer science, computer programming, computer engineering, information technology, information science, information systems management, network administration, or a pertinent scientific, technical or related area; or
 </li>
 <li>
 A four-year high school diploma or its equivalent approved by a State&rsquo;s department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and three years of satisfactory experience in any of the areas described in &ldquo;1&rdquo; above; or
 </li>
 <li>
 Education and/or experience equivalent to &ldquo;1&rdquo; or &ldquo;2&rdquo;, above. College education may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience in &ldquo;2&rdquo; above on the basis that sixty (60) semester credits from an accredited college is equated to one year of experience. In addition, twenty-four (24) credits from an accredited college or graduate school in cyber security, network security, computer science, computer programming, computer engineering, information technology, information science, information systems management, network administration, or a pertinent scientific, technical or related area; or a certificate of at least 625 hours in computer programming from an accredited technical school (post high school), may be substituted for one year of experience.

 Preferred Skills
 
 
 
 Basic understanding of networking, familiarity with applications and operating systems, knowledge of cyber security concepts, and willingness to manage, fine tune, and optimize security tools, such as SIEM, Endpoint Detection, Fraud mitigation tools, Intrusion Detection, etc. (training provided). Additional skills include, possess or willing to obtain a security certification (CompTIA Security+, Google Cybersecurity professional, etc.), detail oriented, good written and oral communications, comfortable interaction with agency colleagues, ability to follow procedures and ask questions.

Our Summer Internship Program offers temporary, full-time (35 hours per week) employment from June 1, 2026, through August 7, 2026.

As the City's primary capital construction project manager, DDC builds many of the civic facilities New Yorkers use every day. We provide communities with new or renovated structures such as firehouses, libraries, police precincts, courthouses, senior centers and more. We also improve vital infrastructure. Our staff delivers roadway, sewer, and water main construction projects in all five boroughs. We provide sidewalks, street reconstruction, water mains, sewers, and pedestrian ramps quality infrastructure that is essential for a healthy, resilient city. 
 
DDC&rsquo;s Summer Internship Program is an opportunity for a select group of students to gain valuable experience in the architecture, engineering, design, safety, and construction management professions within a public service context. Students will gain hands-on technical experience through specific field assignments or task specific office work and a mentoring relationship with senior-level technical staff. They will also have the opportunity, through a combination of seminars, site visits, and on-the-job training, to learn about the challenges of upgrading and constructing the City&rsquo;s public buildings and street infrastructure. 
 
The Project Controls division is dedicated to advancing DDC&rsquo;s core mission of delivering projects on time and on budget. The division provides institutional data analytics service and helps DDC adopt best practices in schedule, cost, and risk management. The team is comprised of professionals with experience and knowledge in data analytics, risk, cost, and schedule management. The Project Controls division provides project-level support to individual projects as well as programmatic and advisory support. 
 
The Project Controls Unit is seeking a summer intern to support in the advancement of delivering projects on time and on budget. Tasks may include: 
<ul><li>Work with data and documents for construction projects in and around New York City including document management and data analytics</li><li>Using tools like PowerBI (for building dashboards and performing quick descriptive statistics), python (to build machine learning/AI solutions), &amp; Azure based tools to automate tasks and data flows (e.g. synapse pipelines and logic apps)</li></ul>
