KCDA has an exciting opportunity to work as a Bookkeeper in the Fiscal Bureau's Accounting Unit.
 
 
 The Fiscal Bureau&rsquo;s Accounting Unit manages the primary financial functions of the agency with the responsibility of assisting and monitoring the agency&rsquo;s $191 million budget (FY26), which supports a staff of more than 1,200 employees&rsquo; ensuring and managing State and Federal revenues; maintaining and reconciling agency bank accounts; payment of invoices; and monitoring its financial health by reviewing financial statements and audits. Responsible for the financial management of grants received by KCDA; monitoring agency fiscal activity and conducting expenditure analyses; ensuring regulatory compliance; and analyzing fiscal operations.
 
 
 Under the supervision of the Assistant Deputy Director, the Bookkeeper&rsquo;s duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 Handling accounts payable activities including vendor payments using the City&rsquo;s Financial Management System (FMS), PASSPort and QuickBooks
 </li>

 Reconciling bank statements
 </li>
 <li>
 Tracking purchase orders and invoices received

 Examining invoices, claims, and vouchers to verify accuracy
 </li>
 <li>
 Managing filing of Accounts Payable documents
 </li>

 Entering payee and vendor information into QuickBooks
 </li>

 Communicating with vendors and KCDA Employees

 Attending Unit/Bureau meetings

 The New York City Department of Correction (DOC) is an integral part of the City&rsquo;s evolving criminal justice system, participating in reform initiatives and strategies aimed to move the city towards a smaller jail system without compromising public safety. The DOC is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for staff, providers, visitors, volunteers, and people in our custody. Importantly, safe jails enable DOC to provide people in custody with the tools and opportunities they need to successfully re-enter their communities. The DOC operates facilities and court commands across the five boroughs with more than 7,500 diverse professionals and knowledge experts.
 
 
 The DOC seeks to recruit an Associate Commissioner to support the innovation and strategies for emerging adults in DOC&rsquo;s care. With guidance of the First Deputy Commissioner and in partnership with the Division of Programs and Community Partnerships, the Associate Commissioner manages and supervises the daily services for the Division&rsquo;s Civic Engagement, Chaplaincy Services Unit, Data Management Unit, Program Development &amp; Community Partnerships, Volunteer/Service Provider Unit, and Executive Directors/Program Coordinators; develops and leads the strategy and process to address living and working conditions at Rikers Island for emerging adults with an eye towards scale for all incarcerated people across programs, operations, and communications streams. Having wide latitude for independent judgement and decision making, the Associate Commissioner will also develop and lead the strategy and process for other projects as identified that aim to address violence and improve the living and working conditions and culture at Rikers Island across programs, operations, and communications streams. All work will center a commitment to race equity, healing, and human dignity, and be in partnership with the people most impacted including current and formerly incarcerated people and line staff.
