<div></div><div><b>Job Summary:</b></div>

This position is accountable for performing general unskilled manual work requiring no special training and little or no experience; also, does related work as required. This position is under the direct supervision of the department leader or designee and the general supervision of the Service Director, who may, from time-to-time, review said work, methods of results, and are given general instructions on assignments.</div><br>

</div><div><b>Job Duties &amp; Responsibilities:</b></div>
<ul><li> May be utilized in any department within the City for various General Labor duties but will primarily be in the Park or/or Cemetery</li></ul>
<ul><li> Mows lawns with manual and zero turn lawn mowers, weed whacks, cuts, and trims trees and bushes throughout the department</li></ul>
<ul><li> Assists with burials</li></ul>
<ul><li> Operate and safely utilize equipment such as backhoe, athletic field maintenance equipment, chipper, zero turn lawn mowers, tractor, grounds maintenance equipment, floor scrubber and any and all relevant equipment</li></ul>
<ul><li> Responsible for custodial duties throughout the City, including the parks, Wellness Center, Cemetery, Bike Trail, etc.
</li></ul><ul><li> Lays out all safety equipment for jobs (Cones, barrels, signs, etc.)</li></ul>
<ul><li> Acts as flagger, directing traffic around workers and equipment</li></ul>
<ul><li> Assists Operator and/or Class A Laborers with all manual labor related to job</li></ul>
<ul><li> Cleans up job site
</li></ul><ul><li> Preps trucks for daily duties</li></ul>
<ul><li> Washes trucks and tools</li></ul>
<ul><li> Cleans shop/shop yard</li></ul>
<ul><li> This classification will be cross trained and required to perform all departmental duties</li></ul>
<ul><li> Any other work given within reason from the administration of the department</li></ul><br>

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:</b></div>
<ul><li> Knowledge of the layout of the City, including Parks, Wellness Center, Cemetery and Bike trail</li></ul>
<ul><li> Knowledge of landscaping equipment
</li></ul><ul><li> Ability to perform heavy manual labor in a variety of climatic conditions</li></ul>
<ul><li> Ability to work in inclement weather</li></ul>
<ul><li> Ability to take/understand work orders</li></ul>
<ul><li> Ability to practice safe working behaviors while on the job</li></ul>
<ul><li> Dependable</li></ul>
<ul><li> Maintain confidentiality of all information obtained
</li></ul><ul><li> Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with other employees and the general public</li></ul><br>

Requirements and Qualifications:</b></div>
<ul><li> High School diploma (GED equivalent) required</li></ul>
<ul><li> Must be at least 18 years of age</li></ul>
<ul><li> Must have a valid driver&rsquo;s license</li></ul>
<ul><li> Requires heavy lifting
</li></ul><ul><li> Strong attention to detail
</li></ul><ul><li> Must always wear proper work attire and safety gear
</li></ul><ul><li> Experience in landscaping, preferred</li></ul><br>

<ul><li> Ability to follow written and oral instructions
</li></ul><ul><li> Able to communicate via phone, radio and in person
</li></ul><ul><li> Able to sit, stand, lift, bend, walk, etc.
