<div><p>An entry level position within the Water Department performing a wide variety of semi-skilled assignments in maintenance and construction work on the operations and activities of the water distribution system and appurtenances.</p></div>
<div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Expectation of Job Duties</b></h2></div>

<ul><li>
Participate in monitoring and calibrating a variety of water instruments.</li><li>
Perform a variety of indoor and outdoor construction, maintenance, repair, testing and reporting assignments common to water operations and activities.</li><li>
Participate in providing statistical information on water division activities.</li><li>
Perform a variety of semi-skilled work in the maintenance of water operations.</li><li>
Participate in preparation of reports as requested.</li><li>
May operate all light equipment such as pick-up trucks and similar equipment.</li><li>
Assist in performing routine maintenance and service on motor vehicles and equipment.</li><li>
Participate in installation and maintenance of water mains, fire hydrants and related appurtenances.</li><li>
Follow daily and weekly work schedules and complete projects in a timely and accurate manner.</li><li>
Follow departmental rules, policies and procedures, and assists fellow employees in same.</li><li>
Follow rules and policies to be in compliance with safe working practices.</li><li>
Perform other related duties as assigned.</li></ul></div><p></p>
<div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Job Requirements</b></h2></div>
<p></p><div><ul><li>Graduation from high school or equivalent</li><li>
Possess a valid Missouri Drivers License</li></ul><div><b>
Or</b></div><br>
<ul><li>
Any combination of education, training, or experience which would qualify for the position as determined by the City Administrator and Public Works Director.</li></ul></div><p></p>

<ul><li>Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions with limited supervision.</li><li>
Ability to carry out general mechanical tasks.</li><li>
Ability to maintain detailed, accurate records and reports.</li><li>
Ability to deal effectively with the general public and city officials.</li><li>
Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, both orally and written with employees, public officials, and other as required.</li><li>
Thorough knowledge of rules and regulations of city personnel policy and procedures.</li><li>
Working knowledge of construction equipment, materials, and methods employed in water works systems construction and maintenance.</li><li>
Thorough knowledge of hazards and safety precautions common in public works.</li></ul></div></div></div><p></p>
