<div><p>This is a non-exempt position under the direct supervision of the Transit Maintenance Supervisor. The Utility Worker performs a variety of semi-skilled and unskilled manual labor tasks and equipment tasks to include the ability to detail, clean, and maintain fleet vehicles. May perform duties of similar classification of an equal or lower pay grade as required.<br>

Operates light to heavy-duty trucks and equipment including dump trucks and small forklifts to haul rock, gravel, sand, dirt, and sweeper debris</li><li>
Operates air compressors and generators</li><li>
Utilizes picks and shovels</li><li>
Digs ditches</li><li>
Operates manual and power weed cutters and applies non-restricted chemicals to remove weeds from City property and roadways</li><li>
Operates chain saws and hand saws to trim trees and shrubs and remove brush</li><li>
Operates various hand, power, and riding mowers to cut grass and mulch</li><li>
Removes snow from City parking lots, sidewalks, and facilities</li><li>
Salts and sands roadways</li><li>
Removes leaves and trash from City property</li><li>
Maintains landscapes</li><li>
Performs routine repair and maintenance including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry</li><li>
Performs daily equipment inspections</li><li>
Performs minor repairs to trucks and equipment</li><li>
Compiles daily activity reports including materials used and work accomplished</li></ul>

Ability to transmit data via two-way communications units (radio)</li><li>
Ability to learn how to safely and properly operate light to heavy-duty vehicles, including the operation of a transit bus</li><li>
Ability to learn to operate picks, shovels, air compressors, generators, and other common labor tools</li><li>
Ability to learn to operate power and riding mowers</li><li>
Ability to learn to operate power trimmers, chain saws, and other power tools</li><li>
Ability to learn to make minor mechanical repairs on trucks and equipment</li><li>

Applicants must be 21 years of age or older by the date of appointment to meet the requirements of the CDL</li><li>
Class B, Commercial Driver's License, unrestricted, with Passenger and Air Brake Endorsement at the time of appointment<ul><li>
License restrictions that may hinder your ability to drive on Pueblo Transit business, such as an interlock, will be cause for disqualification</li><li>
During the course of employment, a valid license must be maintained, and the employee must notify Pueblo Transit immediately upon changes to the status of their license</li></ul></li></ul><br>

As a condition of the employment offer, the selected candidate must possess an unrestricted Colorado CDL Permit by the time of hire. Within the first six months of employment, the incumbent must obtain a valid Colorado Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the P-2 endorsement.<br>
