The City of Springfield is looking for a confident HR professional with</b></div><div><b>
 employee relations experience.</b></div>
<br>
What you'll do:<ul><li>
Partner with leaders and decision-makers within the organization to advise, serve as a resource, and provide guidance on best practices and City policies.</li><li>
Review and investigate concerns, formal complaints, and other issues.</li><li>
Advise both management and employees during discipline process.</li><li>
Apply internal policy and HR law to on-the-job situations.</li><li>
Strategize and problem-solve collaboratively.</li></ul>
What you'll need:<ul><li>
Experience coordinating and conducting investigative interviews for policy violations.</li><li>
Strong verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>
Demonstrated experience using professional interpersonal skills during difficult conversations.</li><li>
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and utilize good discernment and decision-making.</li></ul>

<div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Qualifications and Requirements</b></h2></div>
<div><p><b>Experience, Education, and Training</b></p><ul><li>
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Public or Business Administration, Education, or a related field;</li></ul><b>
AND</b><ul><li>
Two years of professional experience in generalized human resources with experience handling employee relations work.</li><li>
Professional HR certification as a PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or similar certification may be substituted for some of the experience requirement as appropriate.</li></ul>
<br>
<b>Licensing/Certification</b><ul><li>
One or more professional HR certifications such as PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP are preferred but not required.</li></ul></div><br>
