What You'll be Doing
We&rsquo;re looking for a detail-oriented professional to join our team as an Underwriting Assistant. This role focuses primarily on supporting underwriting operations while assisting with data-support activities that help drive business development behind the scenes.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with data, maintaining accurate records, and supporting underwriters. This position provides operational support to ensure workflows remain organized, efficient, and responsive.
Responsibilities<ul><li>
Collaborate closely with the Underwriting team to ensure timely, accurate, and complete submission of documentation.
</li><li>Review incoming submissions for completeness and proactively resolve gaps before underwriter review.
</li><li>Input and update data within quoting systems and underwriting platforms to support efficient turnaround times.
</li><li>Serve as a liaison between brokers, clients, and underwriters to obtain missing details and clarify requirements.
</li><li>Maintain organized, up-to-date digital files and records to ensure compliance and accessibility.
</li><li>Track submission and quote progress, providing regular status updates to the Underwriting team and management.
</li><li>Assist in underwriting review of files, preparing quotes, and submitting to underwriters for approval.
</li><li>Support process improvements and workflow efficiencies to enhance productivity.
</li><li>Manage renewal lists, including renewal evaluation, shopping, quoting and follow up</li></ul> 

Requirements

Ck Specialty is a managing general agent and surplus lines broker specializing in hard-to-insure businesses and homes. We are a fast-growing organization seeking a licensed, sales-driven Production Underwriter/Broker to join our expanding team.
This position is ideal for licensed insurance producers looking to build a highly profitable book of business with uncapped earning potential. The role offers the financial independence and flexibility to work from anywhere while gaining access to top-tier carriers and exclusive markets. Requirements 
Required:<ul><li><ul><li>
Active Property &amp; Casualty (P&amp;C) Insurance License.</li><li>
Prior experience in insurance production, underwriting, and/or brokering (excess &amp; surplus lines preferred).</li><li>
Proven track record of sales success, meeting or exceeding revenue targets.</li><li>
Strong analytical and decision-making skills to assess and price risks effectively.</li><li>
Excellent relationship-building and negotiation abilities.</li><li>
Self-motivated with a 120% mentality to grow and maintain a profitable book of business.</li><li>
Strong organizational and time-management skills.</li><li>
