Duties and Responsibilities:</b></div><ul><li>
Administer physician ordered medication to resident's and maintain related medical records under the supervision of the Clinical Director.</li><li>
Verify identity of residents receiving medication and record name of drug, dosage, route, and time of administration on electronic MAR.</li><li>
Presents medication to resident and observes administration of medication, using certified medication aid training procedures.</li><li>
Takes vital signs or observes residents to detect response to specified types of medication and prepares report or notifies Clinical Director of unexpected reactions.</li><li>
Documents reasons prescribed drugs are not administered.</li><li>
Adheres to medication administration policy.</li><li>
May receive supply of ordered medications and assemble drugs for administration to resident.</li><li>
May record and restock medication inventory.</li><li>
Participates in an annual CMA caregiver skills competency check which meets the requirements contained in the standardized clinical skills competency checklist used to certify CMA.</li><li>
Follow state CMA protocols for the community to maintain compliance.</li><li>
May perform the following tasks related to the administration of medications utilizing only unit or multidose packaging of medications:</li><li>
Administer physician ordered oral, ophthalmic, topical, optic, nasal, vaginal and rectal medications.</li><li>
Administer insulin, epinephrine, and B12 pursuant to physical direction and protocol.</li><li>
Administer medications via a metered dose inhaler.</li><li>
Conduct finger stick blood glucose testing following established protocol.</li><li>
Administer a commercially prepared disposable enema ordered by a physician.</li><li>
Assist residents in the supervisor of self-administration of medication.</li><li>
Monitors and records temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure, as directed by the Clinical director.</li><li>
Report significant changes in the residents' condition log and med aide communication log.</li><li>
Assist residents with simple dressings and empty ostomy bags, Colostomy bags and catheter bags.</li><li>
Reminds and assists resident in taking pre-measured medications.</li><li>
Maintains an accurate and complete record of care provided and documents observations appropriately.</li><li>
 Responsible for maintenance of electronic medical records, assuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with regulations, certification standards, legal and ethical standards.</li><li>
Supports the residents, family, healthcare providers and vendors.</li><li>
Provides bed bath, shower or tub bath as appropriate.</li><li>
Provides appropriate care of skin, hair, nails, mouth and feet.</li><li>
Provides good body alignment, positioning, and range of motion exercises for non-ambulatory residents &bull; Assists residents in and out of bed and with ambulation.</li><li>
Assists residents with use urinal, commode and bathroom.</li><li>
Assists with feeding and dressing residents.</li><li>
Provides personal care to the resident in a compassionate and understanding manner consistent with the Eden philosophy &bull; Maintains the dignity of the resident.</li><li>
Provides person-centered care to improve the quality of life.</li><li>
Consults and collaborates with the management team and others involved in the resident's care.</li><li>
Provides oversight of residents and accountability to policies and procedures such as nametags, gait belts, clinical standup/ rounds and professional interactions.</li><li>
Assists residents during activity programs and mealtimes.</li><li>
Focuses on solving conflict and not blaming.</li><li>
Listens to others without interrupting and keeps emotions under control- Remains open to others' ideas and tries new things.</li><li>
Maintain state regulation compliance with family, director and physician notification for changes in conditions, incident reporting and medication needs etc.</li><li>

Requirements:</b></div><div>
Ability to meet physical demands: Standing, lifting greater than 50 lbs., pushing, pulling, bending, sitting, reaching, stooping.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
Qualifications:</b></div><ul><li>
Current Georgia Med Tech License.</li><li>
Current Georgia CNA certification.</li><li>
Must successfully clear a background check/ fingerprinting, TB skin test or x-ray, and health screening, drug screening.</li><li>
Current CPR and First Aid certification.</li></ul><div></div><div><b><br>
Physical Requirements:</b></div><ul><li>
Prolonged periods of standing and walking.</li><li>
