We are seeking a strong&gt;Superintendent - Smelter Power Operations /strong&gt; strong&gt; strong&gt;(SPO) /strong&gt; /strong&gt;with extensive experience in high, medium, low voltage systems and with rectifiers from the strong&gt;Primary Aluminium industry/strong&gt; ./p&gt;
 strong&gt;Key Responsibilities:/strong&gt; /p&gt;
<ul> <li>Plan, organize and control the Area Operations to safely deliver a smooth, uninterrupted power supply.</li> <li>To oversee the complete operations and maintenance of the smelter power operations department.</li> <li>Plan the Area work schedules. Re-plan to address contingencies (eg: changes in Departmental priorities). Consider upstream and downstream needs and impacts.</li> <li>Lead the Area maintenance function, including predictive, preventative maintenance and break-down repairs to ensure reliability and availability of power supply to the Smelter.</li> <li>Ensure to deliver a safe work environment.</li> <li>Develop the EHS systems - lead the teams to: (1) undertake root cause analysis of accidents or near misses and take the necessary action to mitigate risk; (2) review the EHS plan and formulate proposals for improvement; (3) execute projects to drive excellence in EHS.</li> <li>Constantly required to make decisions about safety and operational priorities.</li> <li>Lead the teams to execute programs to reduce resource usage (eg: energy, compressed air) and enhance environmental outcomes.</li> <li>Apply innovation and leadership skills to lead and deliver continuous improvement and deliver improvement in performance.</li> <li>Monitor and control maintenance expenses and Identify ways to decrease costs and increase productivity or resource-utilization.</li> <li>Analyse, monitor and control expenditure to ensure the Area achieves its financial target. Take action to correct budget variances. Work within delegated financial limits.</li> <li>Contribute to the Development of Departmental policy and strategy.</li> <li>Collaborate with Superintendents across all the Department and the Plant to optimize Smelter outcomes, drive continuous improvement and share best practice.</li> <li>Lead the Area teams to safely deliver production targets and maximize profits.</li> <li>Develop the teams to deliver improvement in workforce capability and sustained levels of performance.</li> <li>To handle Smelter Blackouts, Major/Critical equipment faulting/tripping, Hazardous Energy Control, Complex Electrical Design Calculations, Project Management and provide Plant technical support.</li> </ul>
 strong&gt;Qualifications and Skills:/strong&gt; /p&gt;
<ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.</li> <li> strong&gt;Minimum 8 years of experience with recent 5 years in a supervisory role is mandatory./strong&gt; </li> <li> strong&gt;Should have strong experience in working with high, medium, and low voltage systems./strong&gt; </li> <li> strong&gt;Extensive experience and understanding of the work of the Smelter Area and the Department./strong&gt; </li> <li> strong&gt;Extensive experience with rectifiers and knowledge of the equipment and safety requirements./strong&gt; </li> <li>Strong managerial experience is required.</li> <li>Should have well-developed communications skills, be able to handle multiple priorities and deadlines within a fast-paced environment, and to lead emergency response.</li> <li>Deep knowledge and experience in the EHS policies, systems and management procedures applied in an industrial plant.</li> <li>Deep knowledge of the equipment, systems and processes.</li> </ul>
