<div>Position Title: Seasonal Maintenance Worker &ndash; Public Works

Department: Public Works

Type: Seasonal (Temporary, up to 6 months)
Wage: $14.50 - $16.25 per hour, depending on experience
Hours: Up to 40 hours per week
Benefits: This position is not eligible for benefits. 
Position Summary:

Clinton City is seeking reliable and motivated individuals to fill seasonal positions within the Public Works Department. This role involves working outdoors as part of a team to support the maintenance and operation of city infrastructure, including streets, water, sewer, stormwater systems, and other public facilities. 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Perform general maintenance and labor tasks such as sweeping, shoveling, debris removal, and basic repairs.</li>
<li>Assist with maintenance of streets, water systems, sewer systems, stormwater infrastructure, and other public facilities.</li>
<li>Use small hand tools and assist in the operation and maintenance of tools and equipment.</li>
<li>Clean and maintain city property, including streets, sidewalks, parks, signage, and right-of-way areas.</li>
<li>Assist with tasks such as pothole patching, minor repairs, landscaping, and traffic control setup.</li>
<li>Follow all safety procedures and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.</li>
<li>Work effectively with a crew and follow directions from supervisors.</li>
<li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul> 


Minimum Qualifications:
<ul><li>Must be at least 16 years old.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods in varying weather conditions.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Ability to follow instructions and work cooperatively with others.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Must be dependable and punctual.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Previous experience in construction, maintenance, landscaping, or outdoor work is helpful but not required.</li></ul> 
Working Conditions:
<ul><li>Work is performed outdoors and may involve exposure to heat, cold, dust, noise, and other environmental conditions.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Physical demands include lifting, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.</li></ul> 
Seasonal employees may be assigned to various Public Works divisions based on operational needs.</div>

Pay: $27.50 - $33.78 DOE

Work Schedule: Monday &ndash; Friday, 7:00 AM &ndash; 3:30 PM 
Position Summary 
Clinton City is seeking a customer-focused and highly organized professional to serve as the Public Works Operations Coordinator. This position provides administrative, operational, and customer service support for the Public Works Department, including streets, water, sewer, and stormwater infrastructure.

The Operations Coordinator serves as a key point of contact for residents, contractors, and City staff while assisting with work order coordination, permits, safety programs, recordkeeping, and departmental operations.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience or working knowledge of construction, utilities, or public works operations, along with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced public service environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties may include, but are not limited to: 
Customer Service &amp; Office Operations
<ul>
<li>Serve as the primary point of contact for Public Works phone calls and walk-in inquiries.</li>
<li>Provide excellent customer service to residents, contractors, and internal departments.</li>
<li>Coordinate the department&rsquo;s on-call list and phone forwarding.</li>
<li>Manage and track Public Works work orders, including requests, tracking, and follow-up.</li> 
</ul>
Permits, Requests &amp; Coordination
<ul>
<li>Process and manage road cut and right-of-way permits.</li>
<li>Perform daily Blue Stakes requests and submissions.</li>
<li>Maintain street light inventory and coordinate connects/disconnects.</li>
<li>Track and manage HAFB easements and related documentation.</li> 
</ul>
Administrative &amp; Financial Support
<ul>
<li>Assist with purchase orders, motor pool invoicing, and departmental bookkeeping tasks.</li>
<li>Track departmental projects and maintain related documentation.</li>
<li>Process and maintain timesheets and other departmental records.</li>
<li>Assist with grant information and required paperwork.</li> 
</ul>
Safety &amp; Compliance
<ul>
<li>Coordinate department safety meetings and safety programs.</li>
<li>Manage shop safety inspections and maintain safety records.</li>
<li>Track certifications, driver licenses, medical cards, and drug testing requirements.</li>
<li>Maintain safety videos and onboarding materials for new hires.</li>
<li>Maintain MSDS documentation and other regulatory records.</li> 
</ul>
Facilities &amp; Department Coordination
<ul>
<li>Order office and shop supplies.</li>
<li>Coordinate cleaning services and carpet cleaning.</li>
<li>Manage door access and facility needs.</li>
<li>Coordinate yard dumpster requests and cleanup schedules.</li> 
</ul>
Utilities &amp; Compliance Tracking
<ul>
<li>Assist with Waterlink compliance tracking.</li>
<li>Maintain cross-connection source protection records.</li>
<li>Compile and assist with year-end reports and departmental documentation.</li> 
</ul>
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
<ul>
<li>Strong customer service and communication skills.</li>
<li>Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.</li>
<li>Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records.</li>
<li>Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.</li>
<li>Ability to work independently while supporting a team environment.</li>
<li>Ability to interact professionally with the public, contractors, and City staff.</li>
<li>Working knowledge of public works, construction processes, or municipal infrastructure is highly desirable.</li> 
</ul>
Minimum Qualifications
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent required.</li>
<li>At least two (2) years of administrative, office, or customer service experience required; municipal experience preferred.</li>
<li>Experience in construction, utilities, public works, or a related field is strongly preferred.</li>
<li>Experience with bookkeeping, project tracking, or accounting support is highly desirable.</li>
<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) required.</li>
<li>Experience with municipal software such as Caselle, GIS systems, or similar programs is preferred.</li>
<li>Knowledge of Public Works operations (streets, water, sewer, and stormwater infrastructure) preferred.</li> 
</ul>
