Position Description Summary
Overview
The TDIP Construction Manager will work with CLMI client on site at Los Angeles World Airports. The TDIP Construction Manager shall report to their assigned project's respective project manager and is responsible for managing and coordinating construction activities of the Construction Contractor (Design/Builder and/or Construction Manager at Risk). The TDIP Construction Manager acts as the liaison for pre-construction and construction activities, including leading the safety, security and quality for the assigned programs. The Terminal Development and Improvement Program (TDIP) is a major capital program focused on delivering distinct projects focused on modernizing LAX's passenger terminals to improve customer experience, operational efficiency, safety, and connectivity across the airport.
The TDIP Construction Manager is responsible for managing the scope, cost, schedule and operational interfaces of all design and construction related activities for the program. The TDIP Construction Manager will be focused on schedule certainty, budget delivery and making sure that construction work meets the required quality standards while enforcing a strong health, safety, and environmental culture on the project. The TDIP Construction Manager will support the development and implementation of design, construction, testing, commissioning, turnover plans, impacts to the operations, ensuring that risk mitigation for construction activities are optimized, working and coordinating with stakeholders and ensuring LAWA standards are adhered to.
Essential Job Duties<ul><li>Monitor all on-site field construction activities associated with the completion of the project.</li><li>Apply comprehensive knowledge of various disciplines to be used during construction, as well as the methods and techniques to be utilized for installation.</li><li>Ensure construction operations follow approved work plans and Area Shutdown Requests (ASRs) and all proper notifications are made.</li><li>Become thoroughly familiar with required contractual obligations and technical aspects of all facilities to be erected.</li><li>Ensure all work is being performed with and inspected to the latest versions of plans and specifications, including approved changes, submittals and RFIs.</li><li>Work with Construction Contractor and stakeholders to develop the overall planning of construction activities and identify critical milestones and priorities.</li><li>Monitor budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule.</li><li>Monitor the assignment of manpower, materials, and equipment to maximize efficiency, maintain schedules, and to meet budget goals.</li><li>Keep alert to possible problem areas and take preventative action to ensure that critical milestones are met for each phase of the project.</li><li>Ensure the use of sound and safe construction practices to attain required quality control at the maximum efficiency and minimum cost.</li><li>Prepare periodic reports summarizing progress of construction activities for higher-level management and clients.</li><li>Ensure effective implementation of all policies and procedures, including project labor agreement policies.</li><li>Contribute to the advancement of TDG's goals through commitment to productive collaboration with all stakeholders.</li><li>Participate in all necessary coordination meetings with the Construction Contractor, trade partners, stakeholders, LAWA Operations, etc.</li><li>Review Contractor Potential Change Order Claims for Merit and negotiate to final resolution.</li><li>Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.</li></ul> 
Requirements 
Key Identifiers for the Position<ul><li>Construction Manager with experience in an operating/active environment.</li><li>Management of construction within budget and schedule constraints while maintaining all necessary scope elements.</li><li>Leader in stakeholder engagement to identify, communicate, resolution and accomplishment their needs, while preserving the principles and criteria of the project scope, schedule and budget constraints.</li><li>Knowledge in construction contracting practices and methodologies.</li><li>Knowledge and experience in the project construction life cycle from Pre-Construction to estimating/buyout to phasing to implementation to Closeout.</li><li>Maintaining an excellent working relationship with the design and construction professionals geared towards open communications and mutual problem solving in the best interest of the project and all other parties involved.</li></ul>
Hardware/Software Knowledge<ul><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam.</li><li>Familiarity with Project Management Information Systems (PM Web).</li></ul>
Professional Experience Level/Other Qualifications<ul><li>10 years or more experience, preferably on airport projects.</li><li>Experience with projects more than $100 million in value.</li><li>Experience with various delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design+CMAR and Design/Build.</li><li>Proven ability to perform in a management capacity.</li><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.</li><li>Multiple positions are anticipated - Submitted experience to emphasize airport concourse scope, airport headhouse scope, or site/civil scope.</li></ul>
Education/Training<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or other related field required.</li><li>Master's degree preferred.</li><li>Optional certifications may include AAAE, LEED, PE, PMP, AICP, etc. or any other relevant professional licensure and/or certifications.</li></ul>
Element-Specific Requirements/Notes<ul><li>May assume other duties as required/needed.</li><li>Maybe required to work past regular work shift.</li><li>Maybe required to work various shifts as needed.</li><li>LAWA will provide a desktop computer that can be VPN'd into.</li><li>CLMI will supply a company-provided laptop computer.</li><li>CLMI will supply a company-provided cell phone.</li><li>This is NOT a work from home position.</li><li>This is a salaried position based on 40 hours per week at the applicable all-in labor rate.</li><li>This is a Monday-Friday full-time position in the office or on the project site at LAX.</li><li>After hours or weekend work may be required to perform the duties of the position. This shall be considered part of the salary.</li><li>Transportation to/from LAX worksite is the responsibility of the employee.</li></ul>

The offered rate of compensation will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. The salary range for this position is $160,000-170,000.<ul><li>
