We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SAP ABAP Team Lead to manage, mentor, and guide our<br>
team of SAP developers. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 8&ndash;10 years of hands-on<br>
experience in SAP ABAP development and a proven track record of successfully leading technical teams<br>
through full project lifecycles. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and<br>
the ability to translate complex business requirements into effective, scalable SAP solutions.<br>
Duties and Responsibilities<br>
<ul><li>Team Leadership &amp; Mentorship: Lead, manage, and mentor a team of SAP ABAP developers,</li></ul>
fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Conduct code reviews, ensure<br>
adherence to development standards and best practices, and provide technical guidance and<br>
support.<br>
<ul><li>Setting Direction and Goals: This involves establishing a clear vision, defining team objectives,</li></ul>
and ensuring every employee understands their role in achieving those goals. Goals should be<br>
specific and measurable to provide a sense of direction.</div><ul><li>Communication: Fostering open, clear, and honest communication is fundamental. This includes</li></ul>
conveying expectations, listening actively to concerns and ideas, and ensuring transparency<br>
around goal setting and decisions.<br>
<ul><li>Performance Management: Managers set performance standards, provide regular and</li></ul>
constructive feedback (both positive recognition and areas for development), monitor progress, and<br>
address performance issues promptly.<ul><li>Employee Development and Growth: A key part of the role is to champion employee</li></ul>
development. This means identifying strengths and weaknesses, providing learning and training<br>
opportunities, and mentoring employees to help them reach their full potential and build new skills.<br>
<ul><li>Project Management &amp; Delivery: Oversee the technical delivery of ABAP projects and</li></ul>
enhancements, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and meet high-quality<br>
standards. Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables effectively.<ul><li>Technical Design &amp; Development: Drive the technical design, development, testing, and</li></ul>
implementation of complex SAP solutions using various ABAP technologies, including:<br>
o Classic ABAP (reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms &ndash; RICEF)<br>
o ABAP Objects (OO ABAP)<br>
o SAP HANA-specific development (CDS views, AMDPs)<br>
o Web Dynpro, Fiori/UI5 integration points, and workflow technologies<br>
<ul><li>Business Collaboration: Collaborate closely with functional consultants, business analysts, and</li></ul>
end-users to understand complex requirements and translate them into robust technical<br>
specifications and solutions.<br>
<ul><li>Architecture &amp; Strategy: Define and enforce ABAP development standards, methodologies, and</li></ul>
quality assurance processes. Contribute to the overall SAP technical architecture and strategy,<br>
recommending innovative solutions and improvements.<br>
<ul><li>Troubleshooting &amp; Support: Act as the primary escalation point for critical production issues,</li></ul>
leading troubleshooting efforts and ensuring timely resolution of complex technical problems.<br>
<ul><li>Documentation &amp; Compliance: Ensure all technical designs, code changes, and processes are</li></ul>
thoroughly documented and comply with internal governance and audit requirements.<br>
Required Qualifications:<br>
<ul><li>Minimum of 8&ndash;10 years of hands-on, verifiable experience in SAP ABAP development.</li><li>Proven experience in a team lead, project lead, or technical management role, demonstrating</li></ul>
strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.<br>
<ul><li>Deep expertise in core SAP modules (e.g., FI/CO, SD, MM, PP) and extensive knowledge of</li></ul>
modern ABAP programming techniques, including S/4HANA development paradigms.<br>
<ul><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical</li></ul>
information to non-technical stakeholders.<ul><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.</li><li>A bachelor&rsquo;s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field;</li></ul>
master&rsquo;s degree or SAP certifications are a plus.<br>
