WHAT YOU WILL DO AS A HOST</h3><ul><li>
Greet every guest in a friendly manner as they enter the restaurant</li><li>
Check the host podium for complete setup of materials and supplies at the start and end of the shift</li><li>
Clean menu covers, replace old or worn menus, and distribute them to bars and dining rooms</li><li>
Escort guests to requested and/or prearranged tables</li><li>
Assist servers with duties such as resetting tables or fulfilling guest requests</li><li>
Answer the phone promptly with a friendly and cordial greeting</li><li>
Communicate with customers and vendors, relay incoming calls to the appropriate people, and take messages</li><li>
Actively listen patiently and politely to customer inquiries and complaints, providing specific and accurate information about the restaurant operation, directions to the restaurant, and menu information</li><li>
Direct customer complaints and other problematical calls to the appropriate people; answer inquiries about reservations, review reservations, review reservation book, and inform customers about seating availability and accurately record reservations</li><li>
Prepare menus and reservations for the arrangement of tables and chairs for large parties</li><li>
Assist and direct personnel in the arrangement of tables and chairs for large parties</li><li>
Bid all departing parties a closing salutation and &ldquo;Thank You&rdquo;</li><li>
Inspect bathrooms; clean and restock bathrooms with supplies as needed</li><li>
Check back at tables to ensure customer satisfaction and to work on customer relations</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
