 Qualifications &amp; Requirements

 3&ndash;5 years of experience in sales, preferably in logistics or transportation and yard container storage.
 </li>

 Good knowledge of logistics operations, especially in port activities.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
 </li>

 Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.

Role Overview
 
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Cashier to join our finance team at the Lahore branch of a leading shipping company. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, maintaining accurate records, and supporting smooth office operations.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
1. Cashiering & Receivables
 
Receive cheques and bank payment receipts from customers.
 Record and process Accounts Receivable (AR) transactions in the cash module, including in non-automated environments.
 Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely posting of all cash and bank transactions.
 
2. Compliance, Control & Reporting
 
Ensure full adherence to Head Office finance and compliance policies.
 Perform regular ageing analysis and follow up on outstanding receivables.
 Prepare and submit periodic financial, cash, and compliance reports to relevant stakeholders.
 Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
 
3. Administrative & Office Support
 
Maintain and manage petty cash, including disbursement, reconciliation, and reporting.
 Support purchasing activities (quotations, comparison, PR/PO follow-ups) and coordinate office maintenance services.
 Handle general administrative tasks to ensure smooth daily operations of the branch office.
 
Qualifications & Profile
 
Minimum bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.
 Strong understanding of general accounting principles, processes, and basic taxation.
 Proficiency in IT tools, particularly Oracle-based financial systems and MS Excel (spreadsheets, basic formulas, reconciliation).
 Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
 Strong attention to detail, integrity, and sense of responsibility.
 
Preferred: 
Professional certifications such as ACCA, CMA, or equivalent (part-qualified or qualified).
 Prior experience in shipping, logistics, or related industry.
 Experience in a branch or corporate finance environment.

This role collaborates closely with terminal staff, sales teams, and internal departments to ensure operational excellence and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will leverage analytical skills to optimize logistics processes and report on key performance indicators. Key Responsibilities:Container Management:Monitor and manage container movements, ensuring accuracy of tracking , documentation and adherence to schedules.Coordinate with terminals for efficient loading and unloading of containers; resolve any issues related to container handling.Daily Reporting:Generate daily reports on container status, movements, and availability to ensure all stakeholders are informed.Maintain accurate records of empty and full container inventory, including discrepancies, maintenance, and repairs.Forecast and Analysis:Collaborate with sales and planning teams to forecast container needs and monitor equipment utilization against forecasts and actuals.Analyze trends in container flows and provide insights for capacity planning.Operational Coordination:Act as a liaison between internal teams and external partners, ensuring that communication is clear and effective.Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to container management and logistics operations.Cost Management:Track logistics costs associated with container movements and operations, identifying areas for cost reduction.Prepare monthly reports detailing logistics expenses and variances from budget.Problem Resolution:Quickly address issues related to Long idle, damaged or lost containers, coordinating with the appropriate departments to ensure timely resolution.Investigate and analyze operational issues to develop preventative measures and improve efficiency.Customer Interaction:Respond to inquiries from customers and partners regarding container status, logistics processes, and operational updates.Provide excellent customer service and foster positive relationships with clients and vendors.Skills and Qualifications:Bachelor in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or similar field.Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in container management or logistics within the shipping or transportation industry.Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with logistics software (e.g., TMS, EDI) is preferred.Strong analytical skills with a detail-oriented mindset.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Physical Requirements:Ability to visit and conduct business at various terminal and operational locations as needed.
